i watch this with our one-year-old, because he loves monkeys and such, and music. We were commenting on how the jazz stuff would never fly today.

Right. If they are going to put this warning, there is no reason we can't get Song of the South to be published on it.

If they eventually do publish it, it probably isn't the worst idea to go about it by excluding it on launch day and quietly uploading it sometime down the road

So you're triggered they put a warning on it but didn't censor anything?

Why do people care about Song of the South being on D+ so much?

You can just download it and burn it to a DVD with good enough quality if you're interested in watching it. I have it on my Plex

I'm not mad about the warning, but saying "they could have pulled it entirely" is obviously still a cultural concession. I understand most people here just want the shows/movies for their kids' entertainment, not to wage some culture war on Disney.

But the reality is that like 5% of the country has ever heeded or wanted a trigger warning. And those people are miserable useless fricks.

I get the point on this vs. censorship, but as a society we should never stop saying "Hey Disney, this is idiotic you cowards." Because the acceptance of trigger warnings as a useful/normal/not batshit insane thing will undoubtedly be used to later promote censorship and removal.

It also kinda sucks as a movie

I think white conservatives pretend to like it so much because it "is cool"

Especially ones around my age group(30s)

Good news for you, in this capitalist society you're allowed to tell them that with your money! So if the existence of their warnings offends you, you are welcome to not give them your money

I watched it earlier this year. For as much stink as people raise, it wasn’t bad at all. Dumbo was more controversial

Useful information, but I'm not advocating for boycotting Disney.

I'm advocating for people to not think about warnings nobody asked for as a substitute for censorship, when in reality they're both tools used for the same purpose, and usually sequentially or in conjunction.

It is absolutely pathetic that a big company like Disney has to do this stupid shite.

What a time we live in.

Let me see someone try to pull the race card after watching fricking Dumbo. Jesus christ. This world is so damn sad.
