I get that the families were from/had ties to the area, but even so, no way I'm hanging out in Mexico much less bringing my kids.

This is a group of fundamentalist Mormons that fled the U.S. years ago mainly because of Polygamy laws.
At least some of their communities they set up years, even decades ago, are now in the middle of Cartel wars.
