who the hell puts a recital during the middle of the day on a Fall Saturday?? That is crazy.

Women who haven’t had the D in over a year.

I agree it’s crazy FWIW.

I’m working Saturday and arranged to get off at 2. Before my wife knew I was working, or the game was at 230, she booked family pics at 330. Now, we can’t cancel or get the $200 back.

Turn your phone off, record the game. Watch it “live” with your family that night.

Get laid for being a great husband and father.

In a similar situation. My son has a jiu-jitsu tournament that he and his gym have been focused on for months. I am recording the game and will watch it when we get home. Wish it was a night game.

Jezz, what a bunch of wusses.

It’s a damn dance recital for an 11 year old. It’s not a damn wedding or graduation.

Be a man and tell the wife and daughter, “Sorry, but this is the game of the year, I’ll go to the next recital.”

Photoshop works wonders my man. Find some computer nerd to help you out.

I can’t argue with some of the advice on here (divorce, abandonment, etc), but if you must, earbuds and phone access to the game is a must.

I would tell my wife to have fun at the recital.

Uh, watch it on your phone from the audience, like any other red-blooded, tech-addicted, multi-tasking, overstimulated American. I had to watch the AU game from my sister's wedding.

A 10 year old dance recital. Nothing could be more boring even if it is your kid. But this is a true dilemma. I feel for you dude. Probably will have to record the game and somehow try not to see the score.

Make yourself throw up in the morn... gargle with some warm water then stick a thermometer in it and show her you have fever @ 103*....cough like mad the night before, sneeze every chance you get ( black pepper )... use up a whole box of Kleenex wiping your runny nose and eyes ( cut onions will do)....have her video your daughters performance....you will have an excuse(s).... ...well, honestly, your daughters recital is a once in a lifetime thing something you can never replace...LSU plays the next weekend and you can always record the game and watch later... feel for you Bro...

Yeah, no. Don’t they do these stupid things every couple of months.

Once again, it’s not a wedding or graduation, it’s a stupid dance recital.

Don’t miss the recital. Earbuds in one ear, listen to game. Record for viewing later.

Personally, I’d bitch non stop to my wife about the dance instructors’ poor planning, go to the recital as planned with a smile on my face, follow the game on my phone, take pics afterwards, listen on my way home then watch the game on TV as soon as I get to the house.

There’ll be plenty of other recitals.
