Obviously every LSU fan wants Joe Brady to be OC next year and it most likely will happen... but what happens to Steve Ensminger? I know he loves LSU.... played here and all that. Does he go back to TE coach and maybe Co-OC? Hate to see him leave if Brady becomes OC. What you think?

Where do you think he's gonna go?

Es an LSU guy, he's going nowhere. He would probably rather be a consultant than go elsewhere.

Next year it’ll be John Robinson is to Coach O as what Ensminger is to Brady.

They will name Brady Co-OC after we win the Natty, or the end of the year.

Coach E will announce his retirement after 2020 season, giving him allowance to mentor and partner with Brady for two years total, and then to move to the role of an analyst or consultant.

Coach E retains the right to sleep at LSU Football operations center as long as Coach O is HC

I think SE would happily go back to his old role.

He never really wanted to be OC in the first place.

I think we can fatten Brady's pockets enough to keep him here even if he isn't officially named the OC just yet. He is likely still learning some things from E, too, even if it is just how to carry yourself/work/manage life as a high level college coach

I don't think E really cares about his title, though. He's purple and gold through and through and loves football, you can call him whatever you want.

Does Ensninger need the money? That is the question...

Listen, E isn’t a spring chicken and he’s one of the most respected people in the city where he grew up, played college ball etc. He will do what’s best for LSU. I see it as a non issue. Honestly since Les Left he has been the glue that kept it together.

The hiring of Brady and any promotion henceforth will happen with the full approval and support of SE. He won't be forced out of OC, he'll gladly step aside. He didn't want the job in the first place.

Coach E, before taking the OC role, was already talking about spending more time with his grandkids.

I think he either bows out gracefully or stays on as a consultant or analyst... something that still keeps him doing what he loves but also allows him to spend more time with family.

He wanted to retire 3 years ago but O begged him to help him out so he did. He’ll have no problem retiring or stepping aside but if O asks him to stay on in any way I’m sure he will. He’s a true Tiger and will do whatever he asked to help the program the way he always has.

I’m honestly indifferent to this, so long as he stays. Brady has been incredible. But, in the end, I trust Coach O and Coach E to figure out when and how to make a switch at OC. I don’t see Coach E clinging to a job he had to be begged to take in the first place, I don’t see Coach O clinging to his security blanket that is Coach E if he’s got a capable, trusted replacement in the wings, and I don’t see anyone risking losing Brady.

That isn’t a tough question to answer that is as long as you know what Brady wants. If you don’t know then you can’t answer the question until you do. Obviously at this point no one wants Brady to leave but you can damn well bet there will be some offers that will come his way. So this is going to depend solely on that, what does Brady want.

Ensminger is a team guy 24/7 he is going to do what is best for LSU everyone understands the value of Brady especially Ensminger.
