Why does the Rant love Tyrann Mathieu but hate Ben Simmons?

Mathieu got himself kicked off the team cause he couldn't lay off the weed while Simmons didn't have any suspensions yet you'd think it was the opposite with the way this board drools over the honeybadger. What gives?

One’s team was awesome and the other’s team sucked

Because Mathieu whole heartedly apologized to LSU and paid it 10 fold for his mistakes. He also shows pride toward the university.

That b-ball team had so much talent. shite man.

Cause Tyrann takes what he wants...
He’s the freaking Honey Badger.

One had to get kicked off the team, the other pretty much quit himself.

Ok couple of things:
Ben talked a bunch of shite about us.
Tyrann admitted his mistakes, apologized and became not only a huge brand ambassador but donor.
No one hates Ben but he never embraced us so we never embraced him.

Did you watch either of them play?

Gee let’s see:
One was a playmaker the likes of which had never been seen and will probably never be seen again in any our lifetimes and he played on a team that played for a National Championship
The other, while putting up great stats, consistently shirked in big moments and was the poster boy for possibly the biggest underachieving team at LSU in any sport ever.
Can’t imagine why fans would prefer one to the other![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconrolleyes.gif)

One is a player other is a lazy aussie

Mathieu has given back to the school and speaks well of the university every chance he gets. Ben talked shite about the school on his way out after being a major disappointment. ( in results not individual performance) It’s not that hard.

Tyrann loved and continues to love LSU. He gave everything that he could every game.
Simmons was passing time until he could get to the NBA. He didn't make his teammates better. He never demonstrated any love for the university. He never appeared to play with real passion.

Ben played for Ben. Honey badger had his demons but he has beaten them and has donated a lot of money back to the athletic program. I’m 47 and he’s the best player I’ve ever seen play in purple and gold. Faulk is my favorite player, for what he did for LSU, but TM7 was the best player on the field every time he walked onto it

Edit: late to the game, redundant post

Because Ty Mathieu is a great story. He completely turned around his life, he could have kept going down the wrong street, but chose to get back on track and people admire that.

Oh no, don’t dare badmouth the great Ben Simmons, the fricktards from the other thread will rush over to defend his honor..

Simmons showed up for like 5 basketball games while at LSU. So about 5x the number of classes he attended.
