Abraham is having his arse kicked by Rispone and he knows it. The fact that he even put this poll out is laughable.

From my small anecdotal sample size, everyone I know who watched that debate (which was way more than I expected) have switched from Abraham to Rispone.

For the time being, this state has to be put back on the rails.

How is the state off the rails? It seems no worse than it's ever been. At least the parts a Louisiana governor / legislature can control.

So let’s just release all the criminals. Oh wait, we’ve already done that.

Yeah I assume that's it. You want a really good poll, you've got to pay a lot more.

The poll from Monday that had Rispone jumping Abraham had a MOE of 4.2%! 2.9% is about the best that we are going to get in a state governor's race because like you said it costs $$$$.

We had the highest incarceration rate in the country before the criminal justice reform that took place here. Also, Trump modeled his criminal justice reform bill after ours after consulting with Edwards about it. It must not be that bad.

We still have a lot of people in jail, don't worry.

“My republican challenger”

As if he’s already an incumbent or heir-apparent.

He is keeping his promise to not go negative unlike lying eddie. If Abraham goes negative then JBE wins in the primary because the last two polls have had him with the MOE of winning in the primary.

Not really but it is horrible for the GOP and the state. JBE's lead has increased and he is within the MOE from winning in the primary in the two polls that have been released since lying Eddie went negative on Abraham. If lying Eddie goes negative in the next two debates then we do not have to worry about a runoff because JBE will win with about 50.5% of the vote in the primary.

He might not... But I have talked to alot of folks here in Vernon parish and the news ain't good. Folks here despise Rispone now and most say that in the event of a runoff between Rispone and Edwards that they will stay home. Said they will never pull the lever for either one. I can only imagine that folks in north Louisiana think the same.... I'm afraid that if Rispone beats Ralph Abraham then JBE is a shoo in to be re-elected.

I am not worried about Rispone in the runoff because Rispone will benefit from "the Trump effect" and Rispone will have access to the RGA's $30+ million the same way that Abraham would have if he made the runoff.

The strategy for the GOP since 2016 has been to have candidate(s) that can steal enough of the swing vote away from JBE to get him into a runoff then hit him with Trump hammer. What I am worried about is lying eddie's negative ads. Ralph Abraham is currently pulling in 11% of the democratic vote (if you believe the polls) and JBE is currently getting 19% of the republican vote. Half-truth Rispone's approach is going to push some of that 11% of the democratic vote back to JBE and might even increase the % of republicans that vote for JBE (just like Trump's approach in '16 mad 8-16% of republicans vote for HRC), and that is bad because JBE does not need much to push in over the 50.1% mark.

Most of the republicans on this board are #neverJBE and the between Abraham vs Rispone supporters is just for fun, but in the real world it is getting serious (or at least the polls say that it is) and that is why lying eddie needs to push himself up and hit JBE and leave Abraham alone.

uh, yes. Still has him in the runoff
quote:

a margin of error of 4.6%

Which translates into Rispone possibly being at 16%. Exactly where he has been in almost every pother poll.

Plus very few people watched the debate. But even more people are pissed that he went after Abraham; just because HE DIDNT GIVE MORE TO CHARITY!! What a crock. Proves hes desperate.

But how desperate? Will he torpedo Abraham in the runoff? We will see

Sadly, this. The only thing capable of getting this state on the rails in the first place is a new constitution that:
1. Decentralizes decision-making by restoring power to parish governments
2. Greatly reduces the tax burden at the state level
3. Massively simplifies the tax code to make it less daunting for new and out-of state businesses to navigate
4. Wholesale changes to our permitting and licensing regimes to lower barriers to entry for businesses and workers
5. Consolidation of some rural parishes to more efficiently pool resources
6. Elimination of dozens of unelected boards and commissions to return power to local government
7. Stronger public bid laws to cut down on change order shenanigans and bogus redundant studies
8. Restore education to local control with minimal state oversight and funding
9. Elimination of the line item veto
10. Restricting gas tax funds to only be used for road construction, and no funds permitted to go to DOTD overhead, ports, busses, police, etc.
11. Fully legalized gambling and other vices
12. End of mandatory distributor model for alcohol

Same as JBE

This is due to Rispone’s desire to eliminate Louisiana’s inventory tax and inventory tax credit scheme

4) lack luster support for medical marijuana

Literally none of the major candidates support legalization, not one. Ralph and JBE are just as staunchly against it as Rispone.
