Louisiana Gubernatorial Election

Two reasons:
1. Louisiana’s electorate is semi-retarded
2. Our Governor lies and campaigns very well

all of the above. conservatives are trying to mask his accomplishments, but we are enjoying a great economy and I just read a report that personal income is up 4.9% in Q2.

Also, JBE has many Republicans thinking he is basically an R with a D behind his name, since he claims to be pro-gun and anti-abortion. He is Diet Democrat, which is just enough for him to pull crossover votes.

They have not been that good.

However, a poll just released shows him over 45% for the first time with undecideds leaning his way,

The pollster cautioned people that this might be an outlier, and said to look at subsequent polls for verification.

We are up 4.9%, but the rest of the country is up 5.4% (from your own link).

We won't catch up going slower than everyone else and hardly a "great" economy.

Everyone here wants something for nothing.

The poors want food stamps without having to work for it

The rich liberals want medicaid expansion so they can act like they care about the middle class

The rich conservatives want free college for pretty much anyone who can graduate high school.

While we match our southern neighbors on social issues, we are far, far, far to the left on economic and size of government issues.

And our current governor is pro-life and pro-gun, so he can't be attacked on social issues.

For our two GOP candidates, one is uninspiring AF and looks to be more of a RINO with every passing day, and the other one has good ideas but can't stop tripping over his dick.

We have the worst economy in the country, but it is growing... so our illiterate citizenry doesn't understand the problem.

I understand why Scalise didn't run. And in some ways... we need him in DC. But he would be beating JBE by 15 points right now.

Great economy, then why are folks leaving?
Why are there no more jobs now than when JBE took office?

We're the only state that lost jobs....

After the fiscal disaster of the Jindal years, JBE (with some luck and the aid of GOP legislature) has balanced the books. LA is not doing well economically compared to pretty much any other state, but he is getting credit for things being better than they were. Combine that with relatively weak opposition and some social issue positions that prevent him from turning off devout Catholics and evangelicals, and there you go.

Both. Weak competitors and has run a good term. I am unsure of the desire of voting wealthy individuals into office in Louisiana. Louisiana politics are corrupt enough, do we need Rispone who owns ISC to run our state? I'm sure there are no self interests in it for him. Edwards has made some great strides imo and would like to see him serve again.
