Gump had to play in the afternoon heat Saturday and their upcoming much anticipated game of the year against Southern Miss was picked up for 11 am. The SEC Golden Goose ain't happy about it.

Statement from the Bama AD

Alabama mouthpiece Cecil Hurt chimes in

Updating the scoreboard since 2014:

@alabamaftbl 12 non-conference September home games.

Night games: 1

LSU: 12 non-conference September home games.

Night games: 12.* *LSU’s 2015 game vs. McNeese State (6:30 p.m. kickoff scheduled) was cancelled due to weather.

When I pointed out the September scheduling disparity last week, it wasn’t a complaint. Didn’t want to see hundreds of fans treated for heat problems and wanted the SEC office to acknowledge that one member is allowed to set its own kickoff times. Neither has happened yet.

One of the few things Alleva did right was back in 2014 (note the use of 2014 on the Bama side), Alleva placed an emphasis on LSU's night games in negotiations with the conference and network. I feel like LSU is gonna get boned in upcoming schedules in the name of "equitable scheduling" that really amounts to keeping the sugar daddy happy.

I expect Auburn game to be CBS 2:30, but Florida and A&M games to be at night. No clue on Arkansas and Utah State but I would imagine at least one of them will be at night.

They don’t get selected for night games because their ooc schedule are all cupcake games and the teams in the east they play are all arse. That’s what they get for having a bullshite schedule every year.

what games do you think will be 11 or 3?

Bama and Texas will 100% be night games

South Carolina maybe

OM and State will probably be night on ESPN

If they get to keep the officials, then we get to keep the night games.

Fair is Fair.

They seem to be griping about playing their cupcake games in the daytime heat of September. We've got Texas early which may end up being a 2:30 CBS game. Rice is in Houston. wouldn't surprise me to see UTSA in week 1 be 3:00 on the SEC Network. Then October 3rd is Nicholls.

This. Bama is just realizing that their one little concession to placate LSU is making their fans "uncomfortable". Too bad, deal with it.

One member also gets to ring cowbells and one members gets to hold defensive players without being penalized.

Traditions are what make the sport great.

Agreed. I noted that old Butt Hurt didn't mention anything about LSU and night games going back 50-60 years.

I expect Florida to be 2:30 after this past weekend. More eyes will be interested in LSU-Florida that A&M-Bama, I'm afraid.

Texas yes. Bama no, unless they do a 180. Lsu Bama isnt the CBS night game this season but will likely be CBS 230.

Unless they do like they did in 11 and work a hell of a deal to get another double header
