Only negatigers will complain about the defense.

We basically played a playoff game in week 2. We won. drink your bourbon and enjoy the ride until... well you know our next test.

My only concern about our defense is the same one we've had for 2 years now. We can't field enough defensive lineman

I don't know who exactly is to blame for that but I have no idea how you scheme around having no defensive line

It was pretty bad this week and looks to be a glaring issue with this team.

Shut up dummy, Orgeron himself said the defense was a concern. Second half defensive play calling and scheme were weak.

Defense sucked last night. Yea, Texas is good. But they shouldn't score on every single drive which is exactly what happened in the 2nd half last night.

We got pushed around in the line by a Big 12 team.

That’s a problem.

It was a great win no doubt but to act like there is not significant room for improvement is just ignoring what we saw last night.

Yeah we finally have a Big 12 offense, but looks like we have a Big 12 defense too.

One question.

Over the last two years how confident are you that LSUs D will make a big stop with the game on the line? On a scale of 1-10 I’m at about 3!

Well, I think we had 7 guys go down with cramps or other injuries on the D while Texas might have had 1, so that was a concern.

The good news is we only play one other offense as good as Texas and I know our secondary is better than what they played last night. Texas was fired up and Ehlinger wanted to prove that Chaisson was wrong about him not really being a threat throwing the ball. He did that and then some, but fortunately, we still won and that's what matters in the end.

I don’t know how you watch that game and not have at least some concerns about the defense. LSU struggled to get stops, generate turnovers, etc. and generally Texas was scoring at Will in the second half.

This begs the question:

What the hell are our conditioning coaches doing? How can a team from the heat and humidity of south Louisiana wilt like that?

Texas doesn’t condition any worse weather than we do but we looked like a team that had never saw heat and humidity before

I feel dumber every time I read this word. Enough with that stupid shite. Stop being insecure and enjoy the win. Why worry about how another man perceives the football game/their team.

Northwestern State? Because that’s what the team needs to believe.

Everyone will call me an idiot, which is naive and ridiculous, but...

Les would have won that game in dominating fashion.

Being concerned about a defense doesn't mean your a negaTiger. Forums are for discussion and discussion involve positive aspects and negative aspects of what fans see. If everyone was a sunshine pumper what benefit would that be to forum.

So yes the DL is a concern and I didn't see much change in the play calling when the DL was gassed in the 3rd.

But I think over the year it will get better, UT OL is very good. LSU fans are used to seeing our D make stops and win the game. This didn't happen but it was our offense that has changed and can now just out score the other team.

Our offense is legit but the D will need to improve for the likes of Bama.

I don’t think he said it was concern. He said they didn’t play to their standards. I don’t think he’s the least bit worried that Aranda will make adjustments and get these guys better.

It was extremely hot on the field. Young DBs that hadn’t yet been tested against a stout offense. Sure there were plenty of times where the offensive line should have been called for holding but I’m sure if we look closely we got the benefit of the doubt as well.

For those complaining about blitzing, it worked at times but I understand not overdoing it because of our young DBs and needing our safeties and linebackers to help in coverage up in the middle (this to me is where our biggest struggle was other than getting any pressure)...I do think some delayed blitzes and spies should have called or even more stunts

Long story short I’m not worried. We have the next two weeks to get these guys reps and confidence before we dig into tough SEC play
