The only reason our odds are 22-1 is we play in same division as Bama.

They certainly have the easier path.

Sooners not listed is a huge fail.

Well one of the reasons is that Texas has LSU at home. And Texas doesn’t play Bama.

Alabama’s cupcake OCC and SEC East opponents make them an easy pick. LSU plays Texas, Aub, Fla, Ala, and Aggies yet they have greater odds of winning a national title than ND. LSU Tigers gaining national respect.

Short take: shouldn’t UT odds Be pretty dependent on the game this weekend? 16-1 seems relatively high considering FPI (also ESPN) gives them only a 20% chance to win the LSU game.

***

Extended explanation:

Hypothetical 1-loss LSU with a W @ UT, L @ Bama would have a better shot at the top 4 than a UT team that lost to said LSU team @ home. No?

Not to mention UT would have to beat OU (probably twice) for that scenario to be possible.

Not even being a homer here, that just makes no sense.

These are not rankings based on how good a team is. Clearly, the path to the playoffs is a huge factor. Can’t win the NC if you don’t make the final 4.

Exactly. OU isn’t the best team in the country but have as good of odds as anyone to make the playoffs because they will be 7+ favorites in every game

Same for Clemson

Their schedules are a joke

No such thing as "Texas Aggies" :)
That's like saying Florida A&M are the Forida Rattlers

I assume they are looking at LSU having to beat Texas (away), Bama (away) and SEC championship (UGA?) (away).
Once Texas eliminates Sooners from the schedule, it looks pretty easy.
