Is laughing at something the same as celebrating? I dont think so.

I think the “y’all” you’re referring to and the “worst” that I’m referring to probably have a lot of overlap.

Bingo.

Him leaving worked out better for us than having $20m+ in cap space for a disabled player, let alone any long term commitment to him after AD left.

The problem was that Cousins lied his arse off in the press to try and make our front office look bad. Not that Dell needed any help looking bad, but at least speak the truth about how he fricked up.

I do though think Louisiana people overall react worse than other states as a whole to someone "leaving them"

It’s possible, but hell I don’t know

I wouldn’t even know where to start in measuring that

Most states don’t have just one of anything, so you could be right. Saints, Pels, and LSU are the only major sports teams for miles in any direction so the potential for mob mentality is there.

That, and for better or worse louisiana people are loyal and take pride in their state more than most

We love our state and its unique culture, and help each other out and rarely leave

But that sometimes rears its ugly head in perceived slights etc etc

Exactly this.

I mean I always liked boogie, media tends to overblown things and he was a model citizen here. Hell, even after the injury I understood why he went to gsw as well. Less pressure, didn't need to rush back, show off when he did and he gets paid more.

But when he lied to make us look bad, frick him.

Yeah, good point - I can definitely see that rationale.

That's probably because it's not something worth measuring in the first place.

I'm not a Lakers fan but I don't think this will really hurt them in the larger scale. Boogie has trouble being a supportive player instead of the center of an offense and with Lebron and AD the Lakers don't really have a need for him if he can't accept a complementary role when the minutes are important minutes.

It might hurt them in terms of soaking up extra minutes during the regular season but I think this has close to zero impact on their performance in individual playoff series.

Yeah, I didn’t think it was a very good signing, so I’m definitely not gonna say this affects them in a bad way now.

They are gonna need big men to be warm bodies during the season, though. AD and Bron just can’t be your workhorses down low.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Boogie provided value in being a guy the Lakers could count on to go out and put up big numbers in a handful of games that they wanted to rest AD and Lebron.

I think the ideal scenario was that Boogie would be somewhat back to his old self to basically let him get his when LeBron and AD were on the bench. And there was a possibility that it would've worked.

Also, now they only have JaVale at center, and AD who doesn't really want to play center.
