I’m assuming that it’s no longer around.

Was it as fantastic as portrayed?

Went to the one in Vegas several times in the early 2000s. Had some good times there.

I went in the very early 80s, more like just drove by actually since i was a little kid and couldn’t get in.. went there while visiting family who lived in Pasadena/Deer Park.. would go all the way from NOLA just for Astroworld and the Galleria! Also i’ve probably seen UC start to finish in the neighborhood of 150 times.

I went to the original in Pasadena in '82.

The thing I remember most was I had to take a dump and the bathroom there had toilets with no stalls. So if the room a dump you were doing it in front of a bunch of cowboy wannabe baws. So I left and went down the road to a restaurant to take a dump and then went back to Gilleys.

It is gone, Mickey tried to reopen a new one a few years ago and for some reason it never happened.

Honky tonks are the greatest of Americana.

Went on vacation with a friend and her family when I was about 7 (around 1980ish). We went to Gilley’s. Got a t-shirt and even got to ride the mechanical bull on a very slow setting. It was during daytime hours so they let us in. When I got home and my mom asked me about the trip, I told her we went to a bar. We had gone to Astroworld as well but I was more excited about going to a bar

No. But I spent plenty of time at Mudbugs in the 1990's.

The movie made it into a better place than what it really was in real life.

I heard that it was so crowded that you couldn't even move. The air was broken and the beer was warm.

I went there with my fraternity brothers on the way to the LSU Aggie game. It was an ironic spirit sort of visit. I used to say I was the first person ever to ride that bull in plaid . Because I was frattin super hard, see.
