Institutional racism (also known as systemicracism) is a form of racism expressed in the practice of social and political institutions. It is reflected in disparities regarding wealth, income, criminal justice, employment, housing, health care, political power and education, among other factors.

This does not exist on a whole, if any. The worst thing you can be in America today is a poor, uneducated Caucasian man.
And for those complaining that D'Quarvious didnt get a job interview because of his name, don't frickin give your kids these names.
Its no different than not getting face tattoos. It presents an image and whether that image is true or not isn't going to matter when you need to make a good first impression.
I've personally saw at least three examples in my life where African Americans were given preferential treatment during the hiring process where I worked so the agencies could meet certain diversity quotas. This is illegal yet the hiring managers quietly admitted to trying to hire more POC because of pressure from higher ups.
And this shite about people not being able to be racist without having power is utterly and completely ridiculous especially when POC have held most of the major offices in America.
The only "institutional racism" in America is the Democratic party trying to keep their black votes in poverty on the plantation.
I'm beyond tired of these pompous liberal douchenozzles whining about how bad whitey is everytime I turn around when America's racial relations are the best they've ever been. MLK and many of the old civil rights leaders would laugh at the cases of "racism" people are encountering today.
Sorry for the rant.

Blacks haven’t benefited as a class from the government interventions. The interventions can’t be incorrect. Ergo, the “system” is still to blame.

Because you cannot prove it didn’t happen and isn’t happening. To attempt to disprove it just makes one more racist for denying their struggle. It’s a logical trap.

I was at a high school commencement this past May, and one of the graduates was named D’Pravious.

Look, I see the OP's point, but you are minimizing the fact that racism still exists. I'll broadly say it like this:

1) racism probably kept blacks down, far more than anything else, from the Civil War to the early- to mid-1980s. This eased up significantly, but yea, there are landlords and hiring managers and others who do, still, commit racist acts. And those are wrong.

2) however, in 2019 America, the black reliance on policies from the current mindset of the Democrat Party are depressing their progress FAR more than any remaining racism that exists.

Just seems like this admits racism right up front.

Because communism.

Without "institutional racism" they can't tie unrelated past events to present individual failures.

It's bullshite.

I imagine many slaveowners often made sure to remind their chattel that it was a big scary world out there and they'd never make it without them

It is something they made up because there isnt nearly the amount of real racism going around. There is racism and there are racist people. But, not enough to where the majority of minorities could play the victim card and move their lives foward. We just have it so east as a society that people have to have something to create a "struggle".

Because they want an excuse for affirmative action and other forms of special treatment.

Because discreet incidents of racism are hard to show as they're infrequent.

Institutional racism is to racism what rape culture is to rape.

There is no institutional racism. Of course some people harbor racist feelings. But, until we can read people's minds there ain't a whole lot we can do about it.

Because you don't have to actually prove anything. Only show snippets of possible evidence that may show some racism, then assert it is ingrained but is so subtle that it's just become the accepted norm and something needs to be done about it even though they can't demonstrate it actually exists.

you don't understand why a completely vague and malleable term used to silence opposition and label your opponents the worst of society is used?

really?

I love it when in a place like Baltimore, Jackson, NOLA or Chicago where Democrats have been in power for years they make the claim of institutional racism.
