I gave 14 over unless If was residential then 9. At 15 over and 10 over in those scenarios I pulled them over.
18 wheelers I stopped them once they were 12 over.

Depends on the car you’re driving too. 7 mph over in an orange Vette will get you a ticket quicker than the same speed in a minivan.

Katy, TX cops will allow up to 5% over the posted speed limit. No, I’m not a cop, but that’s what I have been told by someone that is.

Georgia it's 7.
Rule does not apply in ATL. You had better stay with the pack or you either get run over or cause an accident.

I use the 110% rule regardless of the speed limit. So I do 77 when the posted speed limit is 70 and 44 when the speed limit is 40.

10% on surface streets.
10mph on interstate is a good rule of thumb.
Though small towns I wouldn't go 1mph over if they have their own force.

Set the cruise at 8 over on the interstate and you’ll never get a ticket. Set it at 9 and you won’t as long as you stay at 9 and don’t creep to 10, and even at 10 you won’t always get one.
I got a ticket for 82 in a 75 on I-49 in St Landry.

My dad always said the cops will give him 5 and he’ll take 5. Don’t remember him ever being pulled over. ???????

My thoughts exactly

My rule of thumb of 10%. I've been driving I-10 between Laffayette and Lake Charles 5-6 days a week the last two years and set my cruise at 77. Passed many cops and never been stopped once.

I'd like more people to get pulled over for going too slow.
This. They are just as dangerous.

I never even thought about this.. As to whether the type of vehicle, etc ever plays a factor in whether or not a policeman decides to stop someone.

Depends on the road honestly. Speed limits of 35-55 usually you get 5 mph wiggle room.
65 and up you can get away with up to 10 mph over usually. Under 35 you better be going close to the limit

I asked an LSP this once. He said 12 over on interstate is the limit, except basin bridge it’s like 5. Have to worry about sheriffs tho

The wonderful Cantrell Speed Cams in nola dont give you shite. Just got a ticket in the mail for going 41 in a 35.... when it says that they dont give tickets unless you are going 43 or above.

I usually don't look at my speedometer, just keep up with everybody else.

So true. On 285 or the Connector, you will get run the frick over if you aren't doing 85 like everyone else.

I told my daughters they are generally going to be safe going about 10% over. because I don't think you're going to get 5 over in a 25. But I think you'll get 27-28...
