How low have Dems sunk? This is Joaquin Castro, Congressman & chair of his brother's campaign.

Naming private citizens & their employers, targeting them for political views and exercising 1st Amendment rights.

Should delete & apologize. Castro campaign should disavow.

Isn't it strange how all the anti-fascists are actually the fascists?

Well that's just how it works, many of us know. You accuse someone of something while being guilty of it yourself.

It seems pretty low-rent, but can one actually “dox” another person with information which is available in the public record?

Then wtf isn't the gov stepping in?

We all know what happens when Democrats or liberals publicly target certain people. There's nonstop harassment. Their employers get harassed also, until they fire the targeted person. The targeted person and their family are issued death threats...and sometimes, there are stalkers. All this because a person doesn't vote a certain way.

The only way to stop all that shite...is for the person to come out and announce that they'll vote the "correct way".

I don’t know about that. It seems to me that “doxxing” is finding and sharing information regarding a person who has some expectation of anonymity. I just do not see that expectation existing for someone who’s name is already published on a campaign finance report.

Maybe I just use the term “dox” differently than you.

Hell, I suspect that we are in agreement as to the assertion that this is pretty low-rent behavior.

Correct. You use doxxing in a way disconnected from its common usage.

I think it meets this definition the interweb gave me. Not too many Americans are savvy enough or will take the time to search the FEC records to hone in on the 44 San Antonians who maxed out contributions to Trump, and then spend the additional time linking those individuals with their business with the intent to inflict financial harm, at the least.

Extremely malicious.

This Webster article seems to be in accord with my understanding regarding an expectation of anonymity, but it is a new word. Multiple different uses are certainly not unexpected.

It's not so much doxxing as it is targeting.

Your information is out there...but if an a-hole paints a target on your back.. by posting your information to his a-hole friends, so that they can harass you, your employer and your family.. because of the way you vote.. that's voter intimidation. Sadly though, apparently our government no longer enforces voter intimidation laws.
