Dude literally couldn’t see the ball his freshman year......Contacts got him to the NFL VIA SMU....LASIK Surgery probably got him fixed up right.....

1 flat out drop and the 2nd missed ball was so poorly thrown it would have been an all time great catch had he caught it.

Things that the Rant will never forgive. The Rant said so many things about Quinn and how terrible he was and how he’d never pan out because of that game.

Now he’s only a starting WR in the NFL.

He's a good wr. His HUGE Drop Against Bama that we needed was what sealed his fate at lsu.

Those drops were overblown anyways because LSU recovered that Yeldon fumble at the 5 not long afterwards.

He said he didn't fit into the staffs plans. .

They were scared to death to throw to the middle of the field and dump offs. That's where Quinn worked. Between him, Harris, and dupre...i was extremely disappointed in the potential lost between those three. Add in LF7, and that should've been a lights out offense.

les miles and company tarnished his college career

How so?

Seems like he was given a golden opportunity and just got passed up by better players.

Since then, he's grown into a better player than he was. Happy for him.

I defend les on here to a fault, but I don't think Quinn got passed up. Hell most of the other WRs were lanky outside guys.

We had no idea how to use a true slot WR. Nor did they try with Harris and Jennings. They threw nothing but to sidelines and deep posts.

Trey was REALLY good his freshman year. Besides the 1 drop, he caught everything thrown his way.

Had he had mettenberger for a year, I think he would've lit it up, even as a freshman.

I just think there's a lot of revisionist history going on with him. Remembering back to those times, I don't recall many people that were clamoring for him to keep his spot. But now that he's doing well it's "oh we messed up with him" or we misused him.

We were doing really well with our WR recruiting with guys like Jazz Ferguson, Dupre, and Tyron Johnson. Quinn got a lot better as a player over the years, but we were definitely happy with the guys that supplanted him.

Very true. But it was because those guys looked the part for what our offense was, IMHO. Its hard for people to get excited about a white 5'10" WR without seeing thier production firsthand. He never got that chance because we didn't play to his strengths.

Consider Quinn, Diarse and Tyrion Johnson all transferred caused of miles. Then jazz Ferguson between coaching changes. That’s almost 5k worth of yards at other schools.

And people think Les left a fully stocked cupboard lol

Thats kind of bullshite. The drop was rough, but him deciding to transfer is what sealed his fate at LSU. He wasnt forced out.

Honestly. Miles dealing with him was an exercise in chicken shite. Especially obvious now that we know the kid is actually talented and not just some board favorite.

Smartest career move he could make. I could never understand why a passing QB or great WR prospect would sign with Miles.

it's a type of WR. the small/slot guy had no chance in the Les Miles offense, especially after 2013

what Les wanted was big, huge guys with wingspan to deal with inaccurate throws from his limited QBs and limited passing concepts

it's just like how Miles hated explosive playmaking RBs and preferred bruisers

the last position that was stupid to come to LSU was a pass catching TE

I believe if he would’ve stayed and developed, he could have produced more. But this a what have you done lately for me times we’re in.

There were some truly stubborn people on here who thought losing Quinn was no big deal and he couldn't catch...(because of 1 game with 2 drops).

Then he had one of the best seasons catching the ball % wise in NCAA history

Now he's an NFL starter.

There goes the rant for you
