I am not sure that did him in but Les was not very tolerant which is pretty stupid. We've had many big drops by numerous receivers over the years. Quinn is not the only talent wasted or misused during their time at LSU.
Frankly, given the out dated offense employed by Les, it's a wonder we landed so many skill players.
No one should hold anything against Quinn for transferring and that goes for any kids who leaves to better themselves or have more opportunities to play.

and just got passed up by better players.

He was told the mold for receivers going forward had changed. Most likely due to QB issues. Les wanted guys with big frames and reach.

Amazing how he dropped one pass and never got another chance, yet we got how many years of Jordan Jefferson??

1 flat out drop and the 2nd missed ball was so poorly thrown it would have been an all time great catch had he caught it.

Things that the Rant will never forgive. The Rant said so many things about Quinn and how terrible he was and how he’d never pan out because of that game.

Now he’s only a starting WR in the NFL.

The Rant forgave OBJ and Landry for their drops as Soph.'s

I have a hard time believing that he transferred and was benched because of that one or maybe two drops

He stayed another season after that. But hardly got any balls thrown his way. Was usually in the game in obvious run situations. The way he was used (or not used) was one of the obvious tells that the game had passed Les Miles by and we were getting worse, not better on offense, as long as Miles was here.

He transferred to be a wr, instead of a split out offensive lineman.

I thought Quinn and Desean Smith were going to be a dynamic duo. A shame we waste so much talent at TE as well

He had a lot of good WRs ahead of him and not a lot of balls being thrown. It was the worst couple years in LSU history for a WR to be in the doghouse, for lack of a better term

Les deserved to get fired for the way he played favorites alone. Not to mention clock mismanagement fiascos. The guy was embarrassing. The way he treated certain players is simply unforgivable

Amari cooper had more drops in that game than Quinn did.

People here are stupid AF.

No to mention TQ was white and there are those here that automatically believe certainly there was a better option than him based on race.

We punted, and then Bama fumbled it on their own 4 yard line the next play

That drop didnt hurt us at all

I just think there's a lot of revisionist history going on with him. Remembering back to those times, I don't recall many people that were clamoring for him to keep his spot. But now that he's doing well it's "oh we messed up with him" or we misused him.
I did

When he committed here I said it will never work out

He came here for his love for LSU. It was never going to work with Les and Cam

No way to know. It would have been a 1st down, so LSU theoretically could have scored on that possession.

Honestly, this picture encapsulates how relieving that game was. We finally won a big one after so many let downs. Was such a fun game to watch and felt good to see them beat a big opponent in TS. Good for this guy to handle everything with class.

You have a choice

1. He catches it and you get 1st down on the 45 yard line

2. He drops it and you get 1st down on the 4 yard line

It was a bad drop, but the net effect was lsu getting far better field position. The drop was not a factor in that game

Good for him but his drops against Bama cost us the game. Was that Les' fault? Les gave him an opportunity

Was he the only player to make a mistake during the game. Were the other players benched as well?
Apparently he needed to catch more passes in practice.
