That's why they called their empire CCCP.
The first "C" is for the Russian word for "Union" (Soyuz).
The second "C" is for "Soviet."
The third "C" is for "Socialist."
The "P" in Cyrillic is the Latin "R" sound. So the "P" in CCCP is the abbreviation for "Republics."
