Your Net Neutrality schtick was better.

I think it's a great idea! Make it hard for those lizard people to crawl out!

Wasn't there a proposal in the 70s to dump ash in Antarctica to melt snow to prevent an ice age?

Let me guess, these same scientists blame Trump for the heat wave in Europe.

I think 6750 gigatons would work.

What a bunch of bullshite. In 25 years they'll propose we have to go back and remove the 7,400 gigatons of artificial snow because it's causing respiratory cancers in penguins or something.

We should also build a few hundred million window units to help cool the earth down.
My plan is sound and I see nothing wrong with it at all.

If the ice pack is melting, this will melt as well,if not quicker.
Just set off a few volcanoes at once and bingo!,ice age.
Or meteor strike or,God forbid, nuclear war.
One major event will solve this warming problem.Personally,I'd just as soon it didn't happen.

I think this is something we should consider.
Here's how I see it. The ice sheets advance and retreat. They have done this since forever. So on its face this idea seems absurd. Why would we try to stabilize the ice sheet to prevent sea level rise? The sea level is always rising.
The reason is because a clever-enough person could potentially stabilize all of that and geo-engineer weather to our liking. For everyone, everywhere. Think Back to the Future 2 when Doc Brown tells Marty that the rain is going to stop in 5 seconds. Well, that's possible and stabilizing the poles seems like a reasonable place to start.

ETA: This would have to be just one step in a larger plan though. Other things would need to be done such as digging extremely large canals to channel water melting from the North Pole south towards the more arid areas of the planet. Massive public works projects.

quote:It sounds like a lot, but I did the math.
7,400 gigatons
It's the equivalent of adding about 3/16" of water across the continent.

What we need is an Antarctica sized refrigerator
But then we will need a ocean sized extension cord to plug it in

In English class you didn't learn to leave a space after a comma?

Why do people think we should use Man Made weather to fight the processes of nature?
What gives us that right?

So are we going to use planes to dump all this "snow" ? Because that is gonna take a shite ton of jet fuel and cause contrails galore.

Wouldn't be a terrible idea. We need to take action rn
