The issue is that most CFB fans are already 3 hours into games when the PAC has its first game starting. Add in that there are usually "big" games on in the 3:30 ET slot and you can see where they have problems

I’d much rather watch Washington State or Stanford or Oregon at 11am than Minnesota, Iowa or Rutgers.

Oh. And I give zero fricks about fans that would have to be up and at the stadium for a 9am kick. Because if they actually cared they’d do it like we would and camp out and drink all night.

I mean the problem is that you need to put some butts in the seats and the better teams will still be playing the big games later.

Would you rather watch Iowa/Maryland or Colorado/Oregon St.? That's kind of a wash to me

Who's packing the stands for 9am games?

As a middle age man...I am sitting there thinking, not a bad idea. Bloody Marys, breakfast and all day drinking.

Which means it is a terrible idea.

Who's packing the stands for 3:30 games anymore? Attendance is down across the board. Most people are staying at home and watching the games on their 65" 4K UHD TV screens.

Pac-12 football doesn’t offer much, but late night Saturday games are unique to them.

ASU-Cal is much better at 9:00PM (Central) than at 11 AM when it’s up against similar matchups like Kentucky-South Carolina, VT-UNC, Nebraska-Iowa.

A hell of a lot more people are going to show up for 3:30 games than they would for 9am games.

Would be much better than my old arse trying to stay up to watch a 11pm start after an afternoon of day drinking.

Then they would go head to head with the SEC & Big 10 games
So the solution is to have games at 9am PDT and still be competing against middle tier Big 10 teams that play in that time slot and also piss off their own fans who would have to wake up at the crack of dawn to make it by kickoff and have all but eliminate pregame tailgating.

If they want to get better ratings, play more Thursday and Friday night games and 9pm CDT time slot

Yeah I wish they would just lean into the late night schedule and have a weekly Friday night game. That’s the PAC 12s niche.

Or maybe you can make your network available to more of the country? Plus I would prefer the late night games to finish off the day.
