This new madden feels like a way smoother version of last year. Not nearly as clunky. I like it so far, but I've only played 1 game...

They don’t last. Madden 16 we made it through a season and about a half before it died completely.

There used to be an Ole Miss troll on this board (prob still is just on his 10th alter) who is infamous for trolling the recruit board that was in the M18 TD league. I hopped into their discord to tell them he’s a POS. They kicked me out of their discord (fair I wasn’t even in the league) because they favored the other dude. Then like a month later they kicked him and his friend for being POS cheesers. He also sucks arse at Madden and cheeses to beat dudes who casually play which is 99% of this board.

It does feel smoother, as in runners don't get stuck in animations the way they did in '19. Momentum is still there, but I feel like I have a lot more "change of direction" control, especially with a player who has the balance of Kamara.

There are definitely a lot more flukey plays, as far as runners slipping tackles for big gains. I've only played with the Saints, so maybe that goes back to running with a player the caliber of Kamara.

I mostly play online exhibitions just to get a football fix, so I'm sure I'll buy the full version, but other than those two things, it unsurprisingly doesn't feel a whole lot different than the past couple years.

My biggest gripe is that the game rewards people who run two or three plays and go for it on every fourth down. The games are pre determined by momentum and home team

Anyone played it on PC?

I mean, it’s good per Madden standards. It’s more fluid like M18 was. The X-Factors are a dumb gimmick imo but they’re fun and spice the game up. The gameplay is miles ahead of M19.

For the record, I hated M19 from day 1. I’m not the “this game is the best ever” the first week it comes out type. Franchise is still shite and meant to be played with friends/multiple users.

I played the trial on PC. Gameplay does feel good. And it looks more polished this year.

I only played the trial the last 2 years. Didn’t consider buying it last year, this year plays well enough to make me consider it.

I think MUT ruined Madden. Change my mind.

I agree to an extent.

I don't think MUT ruined Madden. I think pay-to-play in MUT ruined Madden.

It's way different when everyone has a shot at solos and Auction House to build their team. As it stands now, you have people spending hundreds and some even spending THOUSANDS. That's nuts.

It’s actually a really cool idea. Being able to construct a team with players from every team plus players from the past and compete online. However, they’ve figured out how to monetize the frick out of it. I wanna say M16 they learned that if they nerf all of the base players, to be able to compete year round, the player base will have to grind solos or put money into the game. It’s a well oiled machine now.

The funniest (and absolutely disgusting) thing about this is that 2k and MLB The Show both do it and gamers COMPLAIN when they don’t have to grind/put in money for end game content. I saw it on The Show’s reddit people were complaining at how easy it was to get some end game cards (99 Keyshawn/Nolan) just by leveling up and playing the game. It’s really sad.

Why can't you do custom rosters?

It's not EA responsibility if some random guy makes rosters based on the likenesses. They would not be culpable.

i.e. someone on Madden right now can go and make a quarterback named Trevor Lawrence or Tua Tagovailoa.

The big thing that got them in trouble was that a crowdsourced roster would have Manziel and the announcer would magically get the pronunciation right.

Or LSU would have a 6-1, 240 pound black dude with short hair playing inside linebacker and wearing #40 but we SWEAR it isn't Devin White.

Have really hated all the madden games on this generation of consoles. Way too much going on in the presentation, almost too much player animation which makes the game play feel really clunky to me. The old games felt so much smoother (both ncaa and Madden).

Should get an emulator and an updated version of Tecmo.

Or one year EA fricked up and left in either a play or formation in Florida’s playbook titled “Tebow” something.

I gotta a couple buddies who play MUT and do the 3 v 3 thing so I’m giving MUT a try this year. Pulled Tyreek Hill. Feeling pretty good.
