In the same way that countries in the Middle East and South America can't help themselves from electing people who become dictators, Louisiana can't help themselves from electing corrupt morons.

In a nutshell, Louisiana government sucks pretty much statewide and most of the people don’t give a shite.

If you truly want Louisiana to improve, vote JBE out and put in a real businessman in Eddie Rispone as Governor that knows a thing or two about real economic development and what a business friendly tax code and legal climate looks like.
Fortunately, the October election is coming up real soon, and we can take that step then.

There is little long term shakedown money for Louisiana politicians to gain, plus, the influx of smart people jeopardizes ongoing grift schemes.

frick Huey Long.
That son of a bitch is the biggest reason why so much corruption and grift is institutionalized in this state and why Louisiana is a good thirty years behind the rest of the south. He was a socialist who's four years in office were so damaging that Louisiana has never really recovered from it.
It was a good day for Louisiana when he was shot dead in the statehouse.
His statute in front of the state capital needs to be torn down like its Saddam.

Without Huey Long, Louisiana would be Mississippi. And yeah, I know that's not much but it's usually kept us at least 49th out of 50.

You want illegals and progressive filth flooding La?
There are more billionaires in the city of Memphis than the whole state Louisiana. Think about that for a moment

If we were Mississippi in the 20's and 30's, that would still have given us a much better chance to improve for the better without the corruption and grift considering the natural resources and land we have here.
IIRC, We're still paying royalties to the long family through oil and gas. Deduct box anyone?

There's a statewide victimhood mentality. I've never seen anything like it. It permeates every aspect of LA culture. Even Louisiana sports fans exemplify this. The constant complaining about everyone being out to get you is both incredibly cringeworthy and pathetic.

Louisiana. Lolz. Nice to visit family there but I'd take living in Nebraska over that 3rd world shithole any day
But I'll gladly hear from this board on how great it is living in the south and particularly in Louisiana as opposed to Nebraska.

I spent 6 months in north Kansas. I'd love to have a conversation with you where we compare life in fricking Nebraska to life in Atlanta, Nashville, Chattanooga, Charleston, Raleigh, etc...
