Morosi says Minor is likely to be traded at the deadline. Not sure the Rangers would send him our way without an over pay.

Heated mlbtv debate.
Greg Amsinger is an idiot

Even though there's no way we'd get him, having another useful starter on the market is good for all buyers.

Jake accidently butts heads with Lucroy, 2 game suspension and a fine. An Angels pitcher purposely tries to throw at Jake's head, nothing. God forbid if Cole were to do the same thing, he's suspended the rest of the year most likely. MLB can eat the biggest bag of fricking dicks.

I'm sorry but retaliatory HBP are Busch league bullshite. It's an outdated and archaic gesture.
As far as those rules go the Astros should hit an Angel in the back for the next game because of the high throw. That's bullshite.

I am fine with the angels throwing at Jake but the pitcher not being tossed is absolutely horse shite.
The ump has to know it’s coming at some point this series.

Been fishing and scuba diving for the past two weeks... purposely disconnected from web (mostly) and haven’t kept up with the Astros or DAT.
Looks like I missed some good melts?

I vote for Framber, but he’d probably miss

I can’t keep up with the DAT anymore. Bunch of women during this stretch. But the overall message is correct though. White has to go. Correa and Diaz can’t get here soon enough. This team need 2 pitchers, maybe even 3. SP, RP and possibly even another starter. There’s literally no one who can take these 4-5 spots.

I’d actually like to see Altuve air mail a throw into the Angels dugout and peg pujols in the sternum.

You can’t hurt a guy hopped up on steroids. You’d have to hit him in the soft spot, his nads. But, again because of the roids they’re probably smaller than altuve’s baserunning IQ. So it would have to be a perfect throw.

If you want a guy that won’t miss it’s got to be Rondon. Tell him the guy’s back is home plate and he’ll put one right down the middle.

As you said, talk of Cole and retaliation is mental masturbation.
Astros are in no position to do anything but try to get as many quality pitches as it can out of the quality arms it has left.
Just trying to find some floating debris and hang on til it's over. Weather the storm, after insufficient preparation, and hope your talent advantage bails you out from mismanagement. Not in-game management, which we already know is lacking, but roster management and designated resters on top of your yearly, typical DL stints.
I thought the HBP last night might spark this team, but as you have said, the "wait til October" mantra is too ingrained. Urgency will never be an issue for this organization. Once you are built on the backs of 4 straight 100 loss seasons, you can't just roll out of bed behaving differently, I guess.
Think about the patience necessary to sit through what Tyler White has done at the plate, and/or even to allow what he has done on the mound. The same attitude it takes from management now is the one that brought you the 2017 WS, but it's also why the establishment still holds Luhnow in some contempt. He has been praised publicly, but there are many who still dislike what his methods have done to the game.

You know, spelling it out there, I think I've put my finger on what it is I don't like about our management.
Our game by game in-season approach is just a microcosm of our entire organizational approach from the time Luhnow took over.
Just not playing to win.
I find it so difficult to be at philosophical odds with my favorite teams.

What are they playing for then?
ETA: I find that insanely offensive. I play card games with kids and I play to win. That’s at the lowest level of levels in competition, but it’s a competition nonetheless. To accuse a World Series winning championship caliber organization that they just don’t play to win is an absolute grab at straws just to look for something to pin on someone. It’s repulsive and honestly, you have always come off as an intelligent poster....but after some Ryno-esque comments as such, it makes me believe that your vocabulary masks a lack of common sense. Some of you guys are so short sided. Think about some of the things that you post and how it makes any sense is beyond me. Make one believe that Luhnow just believes that at this point, with this staff, it’s just good enough. They’re satisfied and they’re going to stay put. Joe Message Board (you, me, and everyone here) sees that there are massive issues with the pitching staff. None of you think that these PROFESSIONAL organizations see these issues? Believe it or not, these guys know 1000x more than any of us here. I know you guys believe you have all the answers, but you don’t and would fail at every aspect of their job. I can understand being frustrated and impatient, but get real. Take a step back and realize that it’s going to take time. No one is 100% perfect and expect changes.

Saying they aren’t playing to win is extremely disingenuous. I think they take the long view, both in season and keeping the championship window open as long as possible. I don’t agree with everything they do (especially not bringing Morton back) but I don’t think each regular season game should be micromanaged like a playoff game. It isn’t sustainable.
There are plenty of teams not playing to win and if you follow the league it’s very obvious who they are. The Astros aren’t one of them

All that matters at this point is to win the division. As long as they are playing to win the division, then they have a 1/8 shot at winning the World Series via the random champion generator that is the postseason.
Obviously getting a guy like Verlander can make a huge difference, but it's still a crapshoot in October, and the trade deadline is still two weeks away.
I feel like the front office realizes this, and aren't overly concerned about having to start Rondon against the Angels in mid July. So long as they don't have to do that again in October.
On another note, these west coast games suck. I'm practically in bed by first pitch, and I hate waking up to piss at 3 AM, checking scores, and being greeted by a shite sandwich of a box score.

I guess I didn't spell it out well enough.
Playing each game to win each game.
The one WS was definitely worth the 100 loss seasons, but you guys are being dishonest to yourselves if you don't realize we don't play to win each game.
It doesn't mean I don't see the bigger picture, but it still is the source of my conflict when watching them not play to win each game.
