They certainly picked an odd period of time in which to freeze their technology utilization.

Ever watch Breaking Amish? They leave the amish world and all become whores, druggies and alcoholics.
Have you seen Amish Mafia?
They loan shark, throw raves, deal drugs, and do all sorts of underworld stuff within that community

Saw the same thing. It was weird, seeing them in their Amish clothing yet wearing sunglasses.

You don't hear too many stories of the Amish going on a Sugar Daddy date then getting chopped to pieces and burned to ashes.
I missed this story.

Rules are Tools. When a rule ceases to serve us, and holds us back, then it is a broken tool and must be replaced or thrown away.

You’ve never been to Lancaster, Pa because no one ever confused it with paradise.
Maybe he's referring to Paradise, PA.

Wrong
Actually he is right. A lot of them exploit a number of loopholes in their rules by way of power generation. Spend some time with some of them, it's amazing the amount of needless engineering that takes place just to adhere to their laws to enjoy some modern comforts.

There are a few pockets of them around my area. One group is ok with using gas powered lawn mowers which I found odd.
One family has a pretty good size woodworking/window shop that has no lights but does have an air compressor.
Go figure.

Aside from farming they mostly work in the building trades. Carpenters I get, it makes sense they would make awesome cabinets. It’s funny how many I’ve met who are electricians by occupation.
