This is the most creative excuse I’ve heard in a long time for the annual embarrassment…

Worst post ever. You honestly think we’ll get a mulligan like Bama has gottten twice already?

No we won’t

If we take care of business like we should, winning or losing to Bama in November means very little. Beating them in the playoffs is all that really matters. Too many people on the rant already have in their heads that the Bama game makes or breaks our season.

People on here just love to disagree because the bama game is the national "ego" championship even though a one loss team can win it all.

There is absolutely no guarantee that an 11-1 LSU would make the CFP in addition to the SEC Champion. So much depends on the records of conference champions from the PAC-12 and Big 10 and Big 12.

We've been broken several years in a row by them. I'm not sure how you come up with this logic.

Those Dick heads don’t deserve to win any more games. It matters.

When is the last time an SEC west team made it into the playoffs without beating Bama in their regular season game?

I know O’s fan club would love for us to give up on being able to do that. It would mean O keeps his job forever. He will probably get a few more chances but if he can’t do it, he’s gone just like Miles.

120 teams in football.. something like that... and you braniacs think it's more reasonable to assume that lsu can lose its division and still go to playoffs than to say that LSU must win.

Yet it's the people on this board who say LSU must win the game that are being emotional and egotistical. Lolol

All I said was it's possible so don't go jumping off a bridge if we go 11-1. Enjoy the season and let things play out. Why have bama stuck up your arse all the time? If they win....they win.

11-1 it doesn't matter who is #1, we are in.

Very simple explanation: If Les Miles had beat Alabama more since 2011, do you think he would have been fired for being "stubborn about his offense"?

The new offensive philosophy need only gained traction because we could annihilate other teams and then run into a brickwall against Alabama. No one is going to give two shites about a new offense if we keep blanking against Bama. If Ed O ran the ball 90% of the time against Bama this year and won, he'd be considered a genius. Don't get it mistaken - Bama is our target, and it needs to happen before Nick Satan retires.

Bama was the best team in America. Most people, including me, thought it was LSU, but 1/9/12 removed all doubt

You only say that because they won after getting a mulligan. If OSU had beat Iowa St they would have played LSU. Nothing about Alabama would have changed except you would not argue they were the best team. It becomes a circular argument. They so they were the best team.

In the 16 years of the BCS I could argue “the best team in America” didn’t make the BCS CG 7-8 times. Bama got a mulligan and took advantage of it to their credit but that doesn’t change the argument that they should never have been there in the first place.

It’s so cute some of you believe stuff like this.

saying it means very little is equivalent to people acting like our season hinges on beating Bama. Both are idiotic. As usual, the truth is somewhere in the middle. The importance of beating Bama is overblown, but hardly irrelevant.

You’re right about it not breaking our season IF we beat them in the playoffs but it definitely matters. I’d rather beat them in Tuscaloosa and the playoffs. That would basically wash away the memory of losing the last 8 games to them.

nonsense. if we go 11-1 but fail to win the West, and our loss to Bama is 35-0, we have zero chance at the playoffs.
