Alabama game means very little.

If we take care of business like we should, winning or losing to Bama in November means very little. Beating them in the playoffs is all that really matters. Too many people on the rant already have in their heads that the Bama game makes or breaks our season.

It matters because it's an SEC West game. We do have an interest in winning the SEC championship

We aren't necessarily afforded the mulligan like Bama is

11-1, we make the playoffs if bama is #1 at the time.

You’re a fool. It means EVERYTHING. Yes it’s technically just one divisional game but it’s everything to our recruiting.

You think we lose recruits if we lose to them in November and beat them in the playoffs?

You are the fool.

I'd say the Alabama game means the exact same as the Auburn game. I just want to take this thing 1 week at a time and savor it. I'm very excited about Joe Burrow and the Joe Brady impact on offense. I certainly want to geaux 11 & 1 and make the playoff, and like you, I do not want to think about any 1 opponent. I'm sick and tired of Sabama that it dang near makes me queasy to think about them bastards.

If LSU beats them in the regular season we won’t have to play them in the playoffs and or have to rely on other teams to get in.

Here’s a tidbit for you, you’re an idiot.

LSU doesn't win the West nor the SEC without beating Bama.

The game means damn near everything.

I feel like our fans have gotten progressively more retarded these last few years.

I’ll take LSU at #4 and Clemson at #1 in the playoff anyday.....LSU/Bama final where the tables get turned......Backdoor a NC without winning the West or the SEC.......Please god....the Karma and MELT would be glorious

You don’t need to win the West or SEC to win Natty. Chances of beating Bama twice are very slim. I’ll settle for 1 win in the playoffs.

If you enjoy watching college football and your favorite team every game matters. If you focus on the destination only you will miss the journey that is the main thing.

And you start a thread about Bama. Nice going.

This whining again. Bama was the best team in America. Most people, including me, thought it was LSU, but 1/9/12 removed all doubt. If LSU is the best team in America we will get in the playoffs just as Bama did.

And to the OP: of course the Bama game matters. Perhaps, if we win every other game, AND show well against Bama, we would get in the CFP even if we lost. So maybe in that one circumstance it would not matter much IF you discount the importance of the SEC Championship.

We don’t control our own destiny if we lose to Alabama.

There’s a chance we could still get into the playoffs but there’s a very real chance that we don’t. Poor effort to lower the standards.

Bama means less if we beat Texas and take care of the others. Go 11-1 and in the playoffs.

THIS!

Good lord, people are obsessed with the end of the season before the first game is played. It's like people have forgotten that the whole point is to be entertained on Saturdays in the fall. I swear some people would rather skip the regular season altogether and skip right to the playoffs.

I'm just curious to see how Aranda handles the triple option of GSU, and how the offense looks in a real game.
