Unfortunate news to share as former Kentucky quarterback and fan favorite Jared Lorenzen has apparently been taken to the hospital. Lorenzen had to be hospitalized due to an infection. This news comes from Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones, who got the information from Lorenzen’s mother. Lorenzen’s mother has asked for Big Blue Nation for their prayers.

Almost seven years after that college game in Lexington, Manning led the NFL’s New York Giants to a Super Bowl title, with Lorenzen as his backup. The pair, shown here taking the field Feb. 3, 2008, at Super Bowl XLII at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., had both been with the Giants since 2004. Wasn’t he recently on some kind of weight loss journey and then stalled out?

His genetics are that of a 500 lb man. His football ability kept his health issues at bay, but the moment his playing career ended he was on the clock.

I hope he gets better. An infection isn't per se a death sentence.

The few other rare guys with his size and ability usually bevome WWE wrestlers and don't like a long life. The Generics that give you that size and ability are the same ones that kill you,

Hope he pulls through. He was as tough a competitor as you could find. His arm was like a rocket throwing that ball. Prayers from Card Nation to Mr. Lorenzen

Fat arse could throw the frick out of a football.

Hate Kentucky more than most things in life, and it's a testament to his character and ability that I respect this cat. Hope things turn around for him.
