Only way I see the turnover ratio increasing is if there is confusion with the new offense.

Maybe a few more but not necessarily a significant amount more It also hopefully will yield a lot more TDs. Ultimately Int aren’t good and you want to limit them but you can’t be scared to throw the ball because of Int. I compared It to baseball. Power hitting is more important than not striking out of Batting average. Obviously there is a tipping point but you sacrifice a chance at a strikeout to have a better chance at scoring. That being said some similar offense have yielded very efficient QBs. Baker Mayfield at Ou has 4 int Lawrence has 4 at Clemson (more passes than Burrow) McSorley has 8 and 10 at Penn state. More but not like he has 18. Butnhes an example of a good not amazing QB doing pretty well.
Danny Etling had 16 TD passes to 2 INTs in his last season. He was top 3 in yards/attempt that year as well. Our offense was in the bottom half of the SEC in PPG (9th of 14). I don’t think it takes much imagination to think that we would’ve benefitted from taking more chances and risking more turnovers.
For comparison, Jalen Hurts had 20 fewer pass attempts and a 17/1 TD/INT ratio. So I don’t know, maybe that kind of passing efficiency would’ve been more useful if Etling was also netting 60+ yds/game on the ground.

I think the offense is irrelevant in terms of turnovers. I think it's the person under center and whether or not he makes good decisions. Burrow makes good decisions and doesn't let his butt pucker when he makes a mistake. I'm not worried about turnovers. I'm glad LSU is finally opening up the freaking offense for the first time in decades.

We know that Brady is OC in-waiting. Probably the worst kept secret around the football program.
The fact that this is so widely accepted and praised at a school like LSU is laughable.
The fricking kid has never even been an actual coach yet he is supposedly our OC in waiting. And half this board is eating it up with a shovel

INTs are just the cost of doing business when it comes to opening up an offense. You have to earn the right to be great at the offense, and that comes from making mistakes and paying dues that way. No team shortcuts their way pass the growing pains process.
Not saying you don't worry about INTs but you don't overreact to them and scale things back because say you have a game with 2-3 INTs. Those games are going to happen to the best of teams.

The key is Burrow being able to read the defense to know who will be in one on one coverage for an easier completion.
Also, the statements from Brady that we will run whatever routes, plays with any personnel helps us not be predictable. Joe B will do well with this.

Defense will hurt the most from it based on what we know so far.

This offense will be quick routes. Little to no drop backs for the Qb before getting the ball out of his hands. Just being the devils advocate and for the sake of conversation, does this type of offense set you up for more turnovers due to interceptions and DBs jumping on routes?
Is a few picks more a season any worse than not moving the chains?

This is the key. You can have a open offense without too many ints. But you are gonna need to be okay with errors early on against lesser teams and be willing to keep flinging it around so that your qbs can work out the kinks.
Throwing the ball 14 times a game against MAC teams and then thinking you can do it 40 times against Alabama is retarded

No clue
Throw to right guy
Hang on to ball
Two sure fire ways to not commit TOs

not really, but i would take more tds if it meant more turnovers.
i would be happy to have 5 tds passing to 2 ints, rather than say 1 or 2 tds passing.. etc

I'll sacrifice a turnover per game if it means 2+ more TDs on the board.

Running more plays, throwing more passes, and not being conservative will lead to more turnovers and likely hurt defensive rankings.

IT WILL BE IF PLAYERS ARE MORE INTERESTED IN DOPE, BOOZE AND PUSSY THAN WORKING.

I think thats a fair question, I dont think itll hurt us on turnovers that much though. Itll still keep the big play alive bc you will do a lot of quick underneath routes that could break with good blocking and it brings the defense in for big shots down the field. Bc aside from the quick slants and out routes i expect joe to still threaten with his legs when plays break down and We have A game changer and experience in the backfield to run the ball effectively and still threaten with Play action. Theres no way the offense isnt better. Plus we will be led by a seasoned Joe Burrow who will have better chemistry with a more experience WR group. Plus even if you give up say 6 more turnovers for an offense that can cosistently stay on the field and keep opposing defenses on there heels then thats ok.

Here's a true statement that folks like Miles never fully grasped.
While turnovers are quite obviously bad overall, pathological avoidance of them can be WORSE!
This is why you sometimes see some pathetically anemic offenses with almost no turnovers.

First off repetition is your best teacher, The more you throw and catch in game situations the better you'll be at it, also if you are a ground and pound, huddle and run clock coach your opportunities to score are less therefore turnovers become more devastating. If you're a no huddle offence you get the ball more times a game lessening the blow of a turnover or two a game. If your personnel is well balanced, talent wise, then you probably want to be somewhere in the middle of those two options.
