I mean it's fun to talk about how the Marlins are the only team that's never lost a playoff series and having won more titles than the city of Atlanta. That only gets you so far though.

even if the Braves didn't win the 95 series, I'd rather be a Braves fan than a Marlins fan all day every day. The 3 years prior to last season were absolute misery for the Braves and not something I'd want to deal with on an annual basis.

I think in Football I'd rather have the title. If you suck, it's one day a week where you still enjoy watching other games, hanging out with folks, etc. But if you are a hardcord baseball fan and your team blows, there is nothing worse in sports. That's a long 6 months.

Mike Martin would have been run out Baton Rouge decades ago

I'd lean towards titles, but I think it's not quite as obvious as most make it.

Your FSU vs...FSU comparison is solid.

I’d rather be bad most seasons with titles on rare occasions than always be good with no titles.

It's easy to say titles with garbage seasons and I mostly agree with that. However, let me just say that after Rich Rod and Hoke, I have no problem with Bo Schembechler/Lloyd Carr 9-3 type football at Michigan where you never really win big.

Eh, that's different. CFB has 130+ teams and a committee of "experts" to pick the playoffs.

Be mediocre/bad most seasons, but have a couple years of unprecedented success and title runs. The titles are recent enough to still be relevant

We call this by pulling an Auburn.

But Auburn isn't bad most of the time. 2012 was a trainwreck and I guess 08 sucked. That's it though and I've been watching for 25+ years now.

Robert Horry always comes to mind. Averaged 7 points 4 rebounds for his career and has more rings than Jordan

As a Redskin fan, no one cares about our 3 titles over 25 years ago..

We're definitely mediocre though, at least by the standards of teams that go on fairly regularly title pushes

We don't "knock on the door" we completely don't show up for a few years then we kick it down on occasion
