Da fuq are you talking about? The only Star Wars main series film of the last 30 years that was universally liked was directed by Abrams.

Did JJ really run Star Trek into the ground when he also resurrected it?
He did for Trekkies, he made it watchable for the Fast and Furious crowd. LENS FLARE!
He could of stopped TLJ, he didn’t, frick him. He defends Rian and that stupid shite.

Exactly.
JJ is signing an exclusive deal with Warner. There’s been zero mention of him overseeing the DC properties.
The DCEU has two films in production, two films in pre-production, a non DCEU film in post-production and one casting. They’ve also greenlit Shazam and Aquaman sequels and we’re sure to get a Wonder Woman 3. As long as Gadot, Mamoa, Robbie, Levi, and The Rock want to make DC movies, the DCEU will go on.

I’m sorry, but no.

Unless he preemptively signed onto do it, no he couldn’t have. JJ is famous for starting stuff and leaving it in the hands of other directors and show runners. He never appointed Kathleen Kennedy though, Disney did that.

Because of these guys. It’s also the reason why Mark Hamill shut his trap for a while.

There are not enough words to describe how big of a disaster it was giving a one trick pony hack like Zack Snyder the keys to an entire cinematic universe.
It set DC movies back a solid decade, maybe more and completely wasted Henry Cavill's prime when he could be the GOAT Superman right now and leading the DCEU like Captain America led the MCU.

He rebooted both of those beautifully. TFA was a solid movie and he had nothing to do with TLJ.

that's because the entertainment value in watching a bunch of idiots bitch about something that wasn't remotely true was too good to mess up with a link.

I agree he didn't run those franchises into the ground. He did a solid, workman like, job of getting both going. Both stumbled when he turned the flicks over to other people but that has pretty well been the story of Abrams' career.
Abrams is a good director who has a knack for turning out watchable Sci-fi flicks and TV shows. I wouldn't call him a great director but you don't have to put out the next Casablanca to have a good big budget movie. That has been true in Hollywood since well before Star Wars was a twinkle in George Lucas' eyes.
He's almost certainly not going to be the creative director for the DCEU... he passed on doing that for Star Wars and he loves that franchise with all his heart. He'll make some big movies for the WB, maybe a super hero flick or two, and maybe start a TV series. Then he'll go back on the market and do something new.

He was on board for 9, he would of saw scripts and could of went to Kathleen and said it was a mistake. I doubt any of that happened. He just let it happen.

Mark may of shut his mouth, but he wasn’t ever up in arms with Rian defending it, like JJ. JJ can eat a bag of dicks. We will see what happens with 9, if he attempts to right the ship or toes the shitty Disney line.

Gotham itself should feel like an entire universe. So many characters, villains and heroes, to play around with.
One of the things the Gotham tv show got absolutely right. They should use that aspect of the show as a guide.

Um no. He wasn't on board for 9 until October 2017 after they fired Travarrow.

i'm actually incredibly disappointed that we won't get to see the Riddle and Joker actors in a batman movie universe. they nailed it. the penguin guy didn't do much for me.

Don't get your hate for JJ. I really like his movies.
His Star Trek movie and TFA were great.

No where does it say he will be heading up the DCU now. It's just a production agreement with Warner Brothers.

They were all working together to chart it. Travarrow and Johnson were both working on their movies before JJ released his, he was in on all that conversation. He chose not to use Luke and let it go down this path. 9 will decide his fate for me, right now frick that guy.
