THis is the man that ran the Star Wars and Star Trek franchise into the ground. WHen was the last time JJ Abrams made a note worthy block buster?

JJ is better at retelling other people’s stories than his own, so this might work out.

Did JJ really run Star Trek into the ground when he also resurrected it?

He didn’t run Star Wars into the ground. That was Kathleen Kennedy with her enforcer Rian Johnson. There’s no way in hell JJ would have approved of that script. He had basically nothing to do with the direction of the franchise after TFA, and was only brought back due to the fan reaction to TLJ.

The fact of the matter is JJ actually a great producer and has a great eye for talent. If you want to look at how he’s actually produced things, look at the Mission Impossible franchise. I just wish JJ would give up direction which he is mediocre and be a full time producer. The third Star Trek film was fricking great for instance. This is actually really good news in my eyes, and they should have just given JJ full control over Star Wars from the start.

I've wanted this for a LONG time. Not sure what to expect at this point and how much he had to do with the fall of Star Wars. What I do know is that his Star Wars movie and his Star Trek movies were really good. I'm excited to see what he can do. I do know that it can't be worse than what Snyder did.

The DCEU committed suicide. JJ Abrams is a near perfect choice to run the show for DC. IF (and it's a big IF) Warner Bros will actually let him call ALL OF THE SHOTS.

After Shazam, I’m a lot more optimistic about the DCEU, and having JJ here should be a slam dunk. shite, maybe just write out MOS, BvS, and Justice League out of the continuity and reintroduce Superman and Batman. There’s nothing in those 3 movies that make those three crappy ones essential, right? Maybe there was a reference in Aquaman to the events in Justice League, but the Superman cameo isn’t all that important in Shazam.

He was announced as the IX director before the movie was released.

Could not agree more w/ OML and Abel, JJ will use the source material and get the ship right. This is a good move. Now if we can find a way for Kennedy to walk into a falling tree then we would be on to something.

Well, it had been filmed at the time. Someone had to have known that was a total fricking dumpster fire.

I still can’t believe they went straight to the Dark Knight Returns as the second film in the franchise. That move alone was dumber than anything in The Last Jedi.

Wish they would give him Kathleen Kennedy’s job and run Star Wars instead

I’m sure they did, but it wasn’t the general audience.

Agree with all your other points, he is a great producer and I think he will fit in perfectly in a “show runner” type role

Honestly since Wonder Woman the ship is moving in the right direction. Getting rid of Zack Snyder fixed that. JJ will only help things stay consistent. I completely forgot his involvement with Mission Impossible until my son wanted to watch the movies he had not seen (1-4). Why couldn’t JJ come in before MiP2. Geez I forgot how horrible that was...

You’re a fricking idiot. Do you actually read the news articles and miss the point or do you just concoct your own reality from the headlines?

I’d rather they just leave Batman alone for the time being. Let JJ produce and throw wade of cash at Matt Reeves to direct 3-4 Batman films and set that up. Gotham itself should feel like an entire universe. So many characters, villains and heroes, to play around with.

Just give vague mentions to there being other supers, but let Batman/Robert Pattinson, grow into the role and give us a huge sprawling series of Batman flicks inside Gotham with Reeves and JJ.

Say what you will about JJ, but at least he wouldn’t have completely ruined what could’ve been the greatest live-action Superman in Henry Cavill.

The way Cavill has been wasted in the DCEU is probably the biggest travesty of the whole Snyder-verse IMO.
