Was Funes working at OLOL while Rohan was in college?

Did you read the quoted statement? The money went to Davey's family who then gave most of it back to Funes. The Davey family was used to launder the money back to Funes.

No it isn't. This is simply a scam concocted to obtain a kickback. He apparently trusted the Davey family to basicly launder money and kick back 2/3 of the money to him while keeping 1/3 for themselves.

This had nothing to do with LSU and will result in Criminal charges against several people and possibly Rohan Davey. It is hard to believe a plan like that was concocted with his family without his knowledge and involvement.

Rohan could throw the hell out of a football but he was never the sharpest tool in the shed.

Why go through all that trouble of digging when they could have used a funnel?

And?

Saban clearly masterminded this whole thing and should be dragged out in handcuffs.

I heard in the last couple years Rohan wasn’t doing so well for himself down in Florida. Maybe he’s coming looking for a pay day? Just speculation.

How exactly do you think Rohan would stand to receive a "pay day" from acknowledging his family was part of a money-laundering scheme?

This is 10x worse than the Will Wade allegations.

This has been substantiated. I expect U of A will receive a NOA this week?

At least some of that money, however, went to “Individual A and Individual A’s daughter, Individual B,” according to court documents, which state the two individuals collectively received 18 checks from Funes totaling $107,000, some $63,000 of which they later “funneled back” to Funes. An important note: Davey was no longer a student-athlete at LSU when Funes began working at OLOL, meaning any checks issued would have come after his collegiate career ended.

So since all of this happened well after Rohan left LSU then this is no way tied to the school at all.

Which makes it rather misleading when they say money was funnelled to ex-LSU player Rohan Davies. Makes it sound like pay-for-play.

This would be like LSU getting sanctions for Cannon or Collins going to prison.

That’s not how it works.

That's what I understand. He made those payments while Rohan was at LSU. I think the fact Rohan was a QB at LSU is incidental. Funes was trying to embezzle the money back to himself by using people he knew personally. He was giving the people money for their assistance, but they funneled most of the money back to him.

Well, he lives in BR, so I’m sure he’s not doing well in Florida.
