Years of continued and unstoppable political corruption leads to a constituency that would rather see the state continue to decline and fall behind everyone else than trust the law makers with their tax money to do with it what should be done.

They have a stream. We have a river that drains half the USandA

It was tried, they called it Catfish town. After a few months the Bible thumpers shut down the suspension of open container laws and the area tanked immediately.

Think we’d be better off improving our roof top space.

A better idea would be to expand the levee top and create green space with athletic fields and an amphitheater.
Great idea, be interesting to see what they could do....

Its nice, but not that special IMO.
I'm with you. All I heard about was Riverwalk before I went to SA for a work conference. Like you said, it is a nice area, but for the hype it gets, it was very underwhelming.

Catifish Town had a lot of traffic in the early days when open containers were allowed within Catfish Town. That’s a fact.

I wonder what basketball being played on a rotating court would be like

You did it wrong.
You know they serve alcohol there right?

Not to mention the beautiful amphitheater on the Shreveport side that floods annually.
But hey at least the attempt is there...
You wanna see apathy and a desire to never develop anything, visit the rivermarket in Monroe. On any given beautiful day, there is a 99% chance it's deserted.
