Angels Envy is a solid bourbon, but their Rye is a great whiskey. It’s a little pricier and tough to find, but you shouldn’t have any probables picking it up in Louisville for $90-$100 a bottle.

Yeah it is good. These are all mid-grade Bourbons, but they work just fine. Calandros has a special Elijah Craig barrell at the moment.

I would look to buy something there that you can’t find in stores around the country.

Angels Envy has a bottle for about $100. It’s aged in rum casks and is an excellent choice for what you’re looking for.

Had it at a bar last winter. Love it. So different from any other bourbon you'll taste because of that hint of rum.

Four Roses Single Barrel is my choice at that price range. I think Angel’s Envy is overpriced. It’s good, but there are better bourbons for that money.

A few miles east of Louisville is Lawrenceburg, home to the Four Roses and Wild Turkey Distilleries. Four Roses, especially, has a line of bourbons to suit any taste. It's worth the short trip just to sample their wares.

Weller green label is like $30.

Can’t beat it at that price point.

Rip Van Winkle is the answer.

He can’t get it at home and won’t break the bank.

Angel's Envy is garbage.

Get him a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel Private collection. And just go to liquor store to get it. It's more expensive at the distilleries.

I second this (as a Louisvillian).

I’m a Four Roses Single Barrel or Basil Hayden girl myself. Basil is a good summer bourbon since it tends to be a little lighter/spicier.

Also, a lot of the distilleries have ways you can personalize bottles. So if you want Four Roses, check that out on the tour/at the distillery.
