Question for Bourbon Folks

This pertains to Father's Day.
Specifically from Louisville, Kentucky area. I am taking a trip back home to Alabama from Indiana a couple of days after fathers day. I go through Louisville and see there are several bourbon distillery's there and I would like to purchase a good bottle of Kentucky Bourbon for my dad for fathers day. He really likes whiskey and has just recently started collecting different types now that he is retired. I have looked at several places and came across one called Angel's Envy and it looks legit. Any experience with this? Or better recommendations?
I see they have a bottle that is going for about $55 but they also have some that go all the way up to $600 (not happening). Idk much about bourbon so any advice is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Get your father a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 20 year vintage, you will win son of the year.

Angles Envy is a solid choice but I will say the port barrels they age the bourbon in give very distinct flavoring differential from other bourbons. If he’s never had it, it’s definitely worth trying. Personal preference depends on how it’s being consumed but Four Roses, in any variety, are my go to’s. Yellow label for mixed drinks, Single Barrel for sipping on, and small batch when I think I’m cooler than what I actually am.

Since you want to be a cheapskate..Just buy an empty bottle of something that was epic and fill it with Jack daniels.

Angel's Envy is good stuff. But I love some Russell's Reserve.

Try Michters Distillery downtown Louisville. They have some you can personalize the box and labels. Might be too late for fathers day but it’s worth a shot. Especially since he’s collecting bottles now. This would be a nice addition to his collection without breaking the bank.

That board will convince him he is a hayseed and a terrible son if he doesn’t go with the 600 dollar bottles

Angel's envy is good stuff, but it's kinda a niche thing. Just about all their stuff is finished in wine barrels, so if hes a bourbon purist it may miss the mark. Some more info would be helpful...what does he normally drink?
ETA: you threw out $55, but that your ideal price point?
