I saw a video not too long ago of some survivors talking about being there. They were talking about it like it wasnt as bad as we are told. Said there was an orchestra and they were built a movie theater. They had soccer teams and all kinds of stuff.

I think there is a lot of estimating since so much evidence was detroyed, lost, or never even collected.

What video are you referencing here? I have never read any survivor's comments in this regards, and I hve read, literally, hundred's of books on Auschwitz. The orchestra was a group of musicians forced to play when prisoners were being hung as punishment, during selections to calm the victims but according to numerous members of the orchestra, they never played for social reasons. A very few soccer games were played between the SS guards and prisoners, games in which the prisoners dared not win. As for a movie theater, there was one force built by the SS in the special prisoner camp of Therasant ( ? ) as a show case camp for RED CROSS inspectors. In Block 11, the punishment block. prisoners, mostly Jews, were locked in small cells and left to starve to death. There were times when the ovens were over loaded and bodies and, at times, those still alive, were tossed into huge bon fire - like fires. It is an historical fact that 400,000 Hungarian Jews were gassed and burned in the last few mths of the war. I guess these survivors missed all this?? Read The Librarian of Auschwitz for a totally different perspective, a true story told by one survivor. Her observations about Joseph Mengle alone will put the lie to this BS.

It is indeed - she would would have been wonderful writer which I believe she hoped to be as an adult. I believe they were ratted out just a couple weeks before Amsterdam would have been liberated by allied troops. Of the 8 in hiding only her father survived the camps.

It was both. The complete complex was vast. The movie The Grey Zone shows everything in great detail. You had the munitions plant, and then you had the pure extermination part.
Nobody with any sense gives his kind the time of day.

I have one word for you... propaganda. I have read all sorts of terrible shite about it from a bunch of different people who werent there. If you know anything about WWII you damn well know that Jews werent the only ones starving. I dont doubt atrocities happened in these camps but the propaganda we are all force fed, well the numbers just dont add up. I have seen enough from both sides to honestly be able to tell you BOTH sides were spewing complete bs propaganda. I will twll you there are plenty of video testimonies from many survivors that contradict everything you stated. I will see if I can find it and link it for you.

Contradict one thing only: where did those 400,000 Hungarian Jews go then? It is one thing to be anti-Jews, quite another thing to deny, in any form, that Auschwitz was a horrible murder factory. Try this detailed piece of propaganda: AUSCHWITZ by Laurence Rees. Survivor after survivor tells the full, real story as it covers the camp from beginning to end. Hoss admitted everything right up to his stepping on the gallows to be hung, the same gallows he used to murder 1000's of Jews, Poles, Russian POW's. Why would he lie then?
