I work with a guy who went there in the 2000’s and he said then it was just a small country school.. now it has overcrowded classroom trailers all around campus, metal detectors at the doors and regular drug raids.. I’m just wondering if the ot knows where it went wrong?

He actually used to teach there right after college before he started working where I work and said he would regularly have to break up dice games in the middle of class. The last straw for him was when he handed out punish work to a student and somehow it got dropped while passing it to him. The student looks at him and says “you think I’m going to pick that up? I’m not your fricking dog”

Where did things go wrong?

Sounds like the school is going through a dark time.

I have no firsthand knowledge but if I had to guess from the info you provided, I would say Livonia has been overrun with culcha.

In the last 20 years most of the country has gone into a decline like the world hasn't seen since the collapse of the soviet union that's what happened to Livonia HS.

Power and the money, money and the power
Minute after minute, hour after hour
Everybody's running, but half of them ain't lookin'
It's going on in the kitchen, but I don't know what's cookin'
They say I gotta learn, but nobody's here to teach me
If they can't understand it, how can they reach me?
I guess they can't, I guess they won't
I guess they front, that's why I know my life is out of luck, fool!

Been spending most our lives
Livin' in a gangsta's paradise
Been spending most their lives
Livin' in a gangsta's paradise
We keep spending most our lives
Livin' in a gangsta's paradise
We keep spending most our lives
Livin' in a gangsta's paradise

Yeah, not difficult to deduce that those who can afford it, send their kids to private school(s) and the rest attend Livonia HS. The jump from there to why it’s a shithole ain’t very big.

This is exactly what happened. Those that can afford it send their kids to Catholic of Pointe Coupee and False River Academy. Everyone else goes to Livonia being it it the only public high school in the parish.

Everyone that said PCC closing is right.

PCC was a horrible school with the problems you listed. Livonia was just a small country school.

As always the leadership thinks that putting the bad kids in a good school will eliminated the problem. In reality all that happens is parents if the good kids simply take their kids out of the school and you are left with the bad/problem students.

So instead of helping the students at the horrible school you simply destroy a good school. It’s sad but unfortunately it happens pretty often and leaders constantly make that same mistake over and over

Punish the good for what the bad have done.. about as Louisiana as it gets.

He said that nothing even happened to the kid that cursed at him.. still in class the next day no problem at all. SAD

When raising kids like feral hogs became more "mainstream".
