I feel he can provide for a team exactly how Fred Van Fleet does for the Raptors. Instant shooting from the outside, crafty play and just an absolute pest on defense. I’m pretty sure he may spend time in the G-League just as Van Fleet did but I just know he’ll make it. He showed everyone at the combine through testing and scrimmages he can game with anyone.

If Waters can contribute like VanVleet has this season that's his ceiling in the league....not a bad comparison though

That’s actually a pretty great comparison, but I don’t think he will ever have as much impact on a team like Van Fleet does if he makes it.

Vanvleet has been unreal. Some of those 3 did remind me of tremont though, haha. Good eye.

Offensively yeah. VanVleet is a much better defender. Tremont gambles way too much.

Doesn’t waters hold LSU’s steals record? Also that block vs Houston disagrees with you.

Has to get drafted to the right place. Like a San Antonio. He can be like a Patty Mills. Mills is only 6’0-6’1

He did gamble a ton at LSU, but he’s wasn’t alone and that can easily be reigned in.

Height will always be an issue, but he’s more athletic than you think and has a tremendous understanding of the game that is hard to instill. It will take the right situation for him, but he’s going to get a shot

He was more of a gambler his freshman year, last year he was one of our best defenders overall plus he had the steals on top of it.

Doubtful Tremont can add another 20lbs to his frame to get closer to 200 like Fred...gonna be hard for Tremont to be effective on defense

My thing with Tremont is defending NBA guards. I would try and get my guy isolated posting up tremont as much as possible. Make tremont’s team double team you, then try and find the open man. The other guys we have seen Tremont’s height that excelled were almost always stocky. Its a shame because if Tremont were even 6’1 he would get drafted pretty early, because he has the skills.

That's a bit of a stretch. Waters gave up so many wide open threes attempting a steal. Also, he was caught just not paying attention to his man and ball watching, sneaking towards the paint while his man slid off to the corner. He did come away with some clutch steals, but I wouldn't say he was one of the team's better defenders. Defending in the NBA is going to be a tough task for Waters due to his size.

Tremont is extremely quick off the dribble and can create his own shot. If he can become consistent with his outside shot he can be a valuable NBA player and his defense is good enough too. Our own Chris Jackson back in the day was an offensive weapon but he didn't even try on defense. Not saying Tremont is the talent CJ was but he has the talent to stay in the NBA longer.

Tremont has as much defensive potential as a tortoise.

Small and not very athletic.

Now tell me how he can score.

Van Fleet is bigger, taller, and a way better defender. It will be hysterical watching Tremont running around playing defense.

His frame is not very big but that man was braking defender's ankles all year and did you happen to see how fast he brought the ball up the court for a couple of wins this year. I disagree with your statement.

Waters would get overpowered by anyone in the league. He also constantly leaves his man open while chasing steals. Good college player who will make some money overseas.

He really doesn’t have any NBA potential. A shame he didn’t come back

Van Fleet has like forty pounds on Waters

Lazy comparison

I think Waters can be successful in the NBA given the right opportunity but it's hard to find a good comparison because there just aren't many guys in the league his size

He can not play above the rim in the NBA a d if he isn't shooting a high clip from 3 he is a liability on both ends.

He isn't a passer and I will pound this to death, he will get worked on the defensive end like a slut in a brothel.
