re: Maybe Nate oats was right, Florida camps out in the lane.

You could dissect any and all game film to say that the refs could've called a foul in certain situations but didn't. That's basketball. I would think UK fans would know this, but I guess UK fans aren't used to being outclassed physically.

I doubt the refs are blatantly missing a ton of real 7-second camp-outs. What's actually happening here is that most people (myself included tbh) don't pay attention to how the rule is called but are now because Oats drew attention to it, and are coming to the realization that refs are pretty lax about resetting the timer whenever a player briefly steps out of the lane.
If the NCAA wants to make the continuous wording of the rule a point of emphasis this off-season and thus call more 3-second violations, that'd be fine, but there are bigger rule issues in CBB right now. The fact that screeners are taught to push off now is a joke. As are the current block/charge rules (it's nearly impossible to draw a charge now). The complaining about camping out in the lane is mostly just sour grapes that we have Chinyelu and other teams don't.

The owner of that Twitter account is a moron whose read of the rules is just blatantly wrong btw
No, you do not have to establish two feet out of the lane to reset the 3-in-the-key timer, and no team gets it called that way

Those were the fastest seconds of all time lmao

I do think if there's another second-weekend team besides UF in the SEC this year, it's most likely UK

Ok. If Chin and Condon are getting away with fouls consistently down low because of reputation, I don't give a shite. Cry about it.

Lee has a great first half but don't love the tendency to dribble the air out of the ball and then take a tough shoot one-on-one off the dribble.

Falling asleep on our one consistent 3-point shooter is pretty funny

What is Jimmy looking at? That's not even close to a flagrant lmao.

I hope he'll be a rotational big next year. Not expecting the world, but 15 mpg where he can expend max effort would be fun. I was skeptical of him coming in but he isn't a complete stiff, has gotten pretty strong, and is just so goddamn tall.
Mikic also has the potential to be pretty good. He's looked solid in youth FIBA play, and you'd hope he's getting tough playing against Chin, Condon, and Handlogten in practice.

Ollie and Mikic would both start for a lot of SEC teams tbh

It’s an embarrassment of riches in the post. Lee sucks but if Fland can be high level there’s no reason Florida should be bounced before another final four.

A 2-way player is effectively the same thing as an AAA player with options. Bediako never appeared in an NBA game and was never really close to getting on an NBA floor.
Not trying to shite on the guy, but Chin and Condon are clearly better. Just getting a 2-way contract isn't really a sign of much

Of course he is solid. He was sitting on an NBA bench

I don't think Vandy can slow the game down and match UF's physicality. We have a flawed team if you can limit our bigs, but most SEC teams rn are built around guards, threes, and tempo, which plays into this UF team's strengths.

So much mental energy has been paid to Bediako but he'd also be the fourth best big on our roster.

Ok, regardless of the actual number, Aberdeen will play 25-30 mpg for you.

Oweh is the starter. He had to know he was a bench guy getting 15 or so a night.
And, to be clear, I think Aberdeen is a very good player who'll be good for UK. He's never been the main guy but there's nothing theoretically holding him back from a size, athleticism, or skill level from being a top-level college guard
UF will be okay -- Lee is a star, Klavzar is going to be a deadly scorer, UF has some other young talent, and I'm sure we'll add another guard -- but this does sting because Aberdeen was a real "developmental" player and UK is going to get his best

Yea, sorry Denzel, but that's one of the few schools where the narrative is no longer "I'm not happy but I can't hold a grudge for the kid chasing the money" and is now "he's dead forever to the fanbase"
