Fletcher Mackel - @FletcherWDSU: NBA source tells me the “All-Star player” being referenced when talking about Anthony Davis/Lakers scenarios and using the #4 pick to get NOLA a veteran is Bradley Beal.
Pelicans want him in 3-team deal with LA.
@FearTheBrown was first to report Beal as Pels target.

Pretty much a "no shite" thing. Don't think this is happening though.

It isn’t happening in my opinion. Unless it’s been kept really quiet.

At this point, I'm going to be let down when we inevitably don't end up with Beal. I really want him

Not sure Beal would help if we want to keep Jrue off ball anyway

I think Lonzo, #4, and Kuzma is a pretty fair return, especially if the Lakers would take back Mahinmi.

I still don't know how they decide to trade Beal without a permanent GM in place. That just seems odd.

ETA: to clarify, I think thats a fair return for the WIZ in regards to BEAL. Not for AD.

That was really dumb to make that public.

I don't care if you hate the Lakers. If you want an all star you just tell the Lakers to go get him.

Consider this.

Maybe prior to this being made public the 4th pick and Kuzma gets you Beal and pick #9. Now with this going public and knowing how desperate the Lakers are the Wizards ask for Ingram instead.

Now instead of the Pelicans getting Beal, pick #9, and Ingram they get Ball instead of Ingram. The public nature of this tells me the Lakers are not as close as people think or the Lakers have a very loose set of lips in their organization.

I know. I'm just saying I've built it up in my head that I'm at a point of no return and I will be disappointed when it doesn't happen.

Lakers may be desperate enough to throw another future 1st, add that to it and it should be done.

I'll go ahead and put this here:

The more rumors I hear emerge involving the Lakers, the less I believe Anthony Davis winds up being traded to Los Angeles.

Why? Keeping Jrue offball doesn't mean he is a stand in the corner shooting guard. Jrue and Beal are both combo guards. Beal needed the ball in hands a little bit more when playing with Wall as PG and Jrue has needed the ball a bit less when playing with Moore as PG.

Combine them and they would be excellent. Add in Ingram who can also run point and Zion who can initiate and pass, there is no worry.

Fair 3-team NOLA/LA/DC deal in my opinion:

-Wizards: Lonzo, Ingram and pick 4
-Pelicans: Kuzma, Beal and pick 9
-Lakers: Anthony Davis

Will Washington deal Beal, rebuild?

LINK

Lakers would need to throw in a couple more future first round picks to NO or switch Ingram coming to NO and Kuzma going to Washington

If Fletch is "breaking" this news then I think it's safe to say they've moved on from Beal and it doesn't matter. Beal was never a realistic target anyway simply because of the current state of Washington's front office.

Only way I see that trade happening is if wizards take number 9 and pels get a future pick, too.

Can anyone sell me on Beal? I like him but I thought we wanted Jrue to play off ball more

It's funny that you think Fletch's tweet has any bearing on what an NBA GM would or would not do. I guarantee you Shepherd has a LOT more information regarding what is taking place than Fletch or Oleh or any of the local bloggers/reporters (no offense to them).

It might not happen but I am 100% certain that the Pels have made it clear to the Lakers that Beal is the target

My speculation is that #4 & BI would go to Washington & Beal, Lonzo, & Kuzma would go to New Orleans. I think this is why it’s been speculated that Kuzma is holding up the deal. The Lakers want to keep one of their 3 young guys and if Beal isn’t involved, that’s a possibility

Also that the asking price for Beal is high
