So the Lakers are going to punt on one of the last 2-3 years of Lebron's career?

it will not be difficult for the lakers to have 35 million in cap space going into the summer of 2020 if we do miss out on absolutely everybody which everyone has been banging the drum on for the last year

so you want them to suck again this year and wait for AD to play for them in 2021?

How'd that work out with Paul George?

its not ideal, but neither is trading all your young assets to the pelicans when you can get the guy the yr after for cheaper

Player wise I figured that.
Ingram
Ball
Kuzma
Hart
Or whatever could be had for them are necessities.

I'm more interested in your thoughts on future assets.

2019, 2021, 2023, 2025 1sts
2020, 2022, 2024 Pick swap with no protections

ya this is a delicate situation for pelinka.

i like the lakers young guys more than most, so id be hesitant to give them all away, personally

im ok with gambling on paul george and losing. i would not be ok with doing so on AD. have to make a deal happen, or at least make a serious attempt at it unlike what happened with paul george in the summer of 2017

Yeah pretty much. There’s a big part of me that wants to hang onto Lonzo and Ingram but the timeline changed as soon as Lebron signed

i think the second we end up with lebron and AD, we will immediately become the favorites to end up with kyrie. just personal opinion. so idk if yall want any future picks until we get into 2025 or later. i wouldnt really value the 2020, 2021 highly at all and i would be low on the 2022 and 2023 picks.

Because he has gotten them good deals...Rich Paul got Eric Bledsoe $70 million from the Bucks, and Bledsoe was almost unplayable against the Raptors. He shot 29% from the field and 17% from 3. Last year he was punked by Terry Rozier in the first round. 70 million is a big get for him.

So you'd pretty much be okay with everything I listed above as long as you didn't take back Hill? That's understandable if you think Kyrie is coming and a dynasty is started. Picks won't mean crap for the foreseeable future.

Once the Warriors had their core in place they still had draft picks but nothing that couldn't be replaced cheaply by a vet.

But if I'm Griffin I tell the Lakers I want all of that AND you have to take back Solo.

Gonna go ahead and take a shot in the dark and say Rich Paul isn’t the one driving the negotiations in those situations

Crazy how imbeciles like Rich Paul can climb to these types of positions thanks to imbeciles like Lebron. Rich is a moron.

Rich Paul seems to be pretty well respected in NBA agent circles. His list of clients is no slouch either.

Not even remotely true from everything I've read.

Almost all due to Lebron's influence. Every good deal he's gotten has been due to LBJ's leverage. He's had some horrific mistakes when it wasn't in place.

I think there is a lot of jealousy since they feel he didn't do it the right way, but his ability to relate with players is respected.

You asked how the money would be there. The money is there, so long as the Lakers don't tie it up long term.

And yeah, if the idea is to get AD in FA, they sort of have to plan for 2020. Ingram, Ball, Wagner, Kuzma and Hart all either expire or have team options after next year as well. So they could tie up some money and still clear a max slot by dropping a combination of those guys and signing a midlevel FA this year.

ya, w the KD injury the west is more wide open than it has been in years so i do see the urgency in wanting to compete right away

it is tricky bc kuz, ball, BI are nice pieces to build around too

kawhi being the wild card in all this discussion
