Lol. We are pumping our chest about beating Southern Miss.

My error. You did say Super Regional. But we didn't back into a Super Regional, either. We won our regional without losing a game.
If you want to make the argument that we backed in to HOSTING a super regional, fine. But thats not what you said, either.
Regardless of whether Georgia won or lost, we won our own regional and therefore wouldn't been in a Super. The only difference would've been location.

Southern Miss has had a very good baseball team for a little while, now.

It's not the success any fan of LSU baseball wanted, but this team was not as good as usual LSU teams are.
We all wanted to believe our #1 preseason ranking, but it just wasn't so.
Add to that injuries and the worst coaching job by the entire LSU staff and we were lucky.
Lucky for our homefield, lucky for the inept opponents we drew.
We should still be alive today. Fla. state was not a good team. They were well coached, compared to us, but wasn't very good. Every team in the SEC would beat them except maybe 2, in a best of 5 series.

I want to see them play hard every night. If someone needs a night off in the middle of the week fine. But LSU should never get beat by an instate school 12-1 or whatever the la tech score was. I understand early in the year, moving pieces around but as fans we wait until mid April to see the full potential for the team?

quote:. I would take it when a team lost 9 pitchers and couldn’t fill out a 27 man roster.
If going into this baseball season you were told that LSU was going to finish 5th in the SEC, not win the SEC Tournament, barely be awarded a Regional as the #13 seed, back into a Super Regional and then get swept in it by a team which was one of the last teams selected to the NCAA Baseball Tournament?
Is this the success LSU is after? What about how the season went in 2018?
Is this a trend you think LSU should embrace?
Probably CPMs best coaching job with the exception of a few questionable pitching “non-moves” against FSU.

Wow! There’s a thing called being supportive and then there’s a thing called being blindly delusional.
“The delusional belief is something very important for those who hold them. That is why they are blind to counter-evidence because they do not want to change their belief. For example, when we are passionate about the superiority of our preferred political candidate, we tend to stick to the belief despite mounting counter-evidence/arguments.”

Yea his supporters don't really understand these things. Teams like Arkansas have now passed us up. It's a shame the excuses they come up with.

So pitchers being injured once again caused us not to score runs? Yea that makes total sense.

This was a team built around pitching, not hitting. If our pitchers are healthy and keep opponent scores down, no one care about Hal

This. And for those who don't agree, they either need to grow up or actually learn a little about baseball.

Name me one team in one season that had as many injuries (to starting pitchers) and still made it to Omaha since the new rules on scholly’s and roster limitations.MSU in 2017 pushed LSU to the brink and they lost their rotation.
This tells me you don’t follow baseball closely and just a dumbass.

It seems to me that LSU baseball is on the decline and that everyone is simply too afraid to admit this around here. They don't want to risk being bashed and downvoted.
That's how I see it.
PS I've read the counter-arguments in this thread and they are good counter arguments.

There are no good baseball teams except a few in the SEC
LSU should curb stomp teams like Southern MS, they are no more than a high school team, just like in state schools
There is no way possible for any other teams, other than a few in the SEC, that can get quality players & have what could be considered a really good team

That’s sarcasm
