Ferrari has introduced their first ever hybrid supercar, the SF90 Stradale.
Welcome to the electric future. The first of the major supercar makers to five into the world of plug-in hybridization is now officially Ferrari with the SF90 Stradale, a fiery supercar that seems to sacrifice nothing in adopting a battery power pack and a few electric motors.
In fact, all seems improved now that Ferrari has gone electric. It’s 4.0-L twin-turbo V8 engine (derived from the 3.9-L found in the F8 Tributo) produces 769 horsepower on its own, but the three electric motors provide 217 more. Combined, the Stradale’s powertrain produces 986 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque.

Meh.
Lots of other stuff I would rather do with that money.
Plus there are other, cheaper vehicles that would be more fun for me.

Of course I'd drive it. I'd sell all of you into human bondage to drive it.
Edit: selling all of you would probably drive the price up a hundred grand. Still totally worth it. That's a beautiful 1000 horsepower.

Fun fact. The Ferrari LaFerrari was originally going to be called the F150.

Wasn’t the LaFerrari a hybrid?

Almost every article today has typos. Volume over content control fricking sucks.

Sort of. This new one is a plug in hybrid in the traditional sense. The Ferrari TheFerrari used a KERS system, which recovers kinetic energy under braking and stored it for an extra boost while accelerating.

I'll drive it. Once Ferrari goes all electric, goodbye Ferrari.

Anyone with even a drop of petrol in the veins would drive it, well unless they were too fat to get into it which cuts out a chunk of Americans.
If I had the money and Maranello felt I was worthy (they would not) I would most certainly buy it. I could buy it drive it for a couple of years and sell it for a large profit. I would be renting out VIR and Barber to play on, no way I would take it to a track day to let people see it post lap times as slow as mine would be.

I wonder what Enzo would have thought about it? I think he would have warmed up to it, slowly.
