That’s good. Just sold a house in the Barker area last month. I was always worried about the trees in that area holding up to a storm like today.

There are possibly two tornadoes now!
1) north of Excelsior Estates
2) west of Excelsior Estates

If you live in or near Excelsior Estates, take shelter now! This is still a very dangerous situation!

While there aren't any severe weather warnings out right now, we are keeping an eye on this storm moving east through Ray County, MO.

We are not out of the woods yet. The tornado watch remains in effect until 10 PM.

I would halfway expect George Clinton and P-Funk to float down out of that.

Watching that video pisses me off hearing those chasers whooping and hollering “we did it” while watching people’s homes being destroyed and maybe even lives being lost. frick ‘em!

I understand your reaction... I really do

but they are cheering the deployment of the probe which hopefully will give the scientists valuable information that will prevent future loss of life/property

Trimmer has no telling how many years of work and effort trying get stuff into a tornado to gather data. The tornado is happening no matter what they do. Maybe his data saves some lives one day.

when Discovery Channel had its Tornado Chaser show that featured Timmer and Sean Casey... Timmer really came off as an a-hole

but he's good at what he does and I'm sure he has the public's best interests in mind

NWS has confirmed two tornadoes with the second supercell near Dayton last night, an EF0 and EF2, plus two separate EF3s with the first, big supercell. Other tornadoes in @NWSILN area of purview also confirmed. Surveys and reports still yet to be completed.
