and this is exactly why you don't hire a brain surgeon to head the HUD department.
put him in charge of medicaid, VA, medicare or anything health related... you go with someone with a finance, construction, or real estate background for HUD. Trump would be way better at Secretary of HUD than he would be being in charge of a hospital. it really is that simple

No he has not done a bad job. Most HUD Secretaries like Andy Cuomo have no background in federal housing policy. But, Carson should familiarize himself with some of the industry jargon. Knowing what REO is should be basic stuff
