I've learned much more by reading than I ever did in school.

I have 2 degrees from LSU and honestly have applied very little that I learned from college in the real world.

I saw that Manning kid from Newman throw 3 TDs in their Spring game and the headline I saw said "Manning's nephew". Is that Archie Manning's nephew? Or Peyton & Eli's nephew?

I'm guessing Archie's nephews would have to be in their 30's at least

ETA It's Cooper's son, Peyton and Eli's nephew, Archie's grandson

Why do teachers need college anyway? Unless you want to teach college. As long as you get passed one grade higher than you want to teach they should let you go for it.

I have two as well. It introduced name to many things but didn't really increase overall knowledge

Sadly college is far more about attainment than Education. Hoops jumping.

ecucation comes from an inner drive. Colleges are more about attainment

These threads are always fun. Its fascinating to see what 40 years of anti-education propaganda by the GOP had done to the conservative white male. Less than 25% of citizens in Louisiana have a college degree, yet too many people are going to college.

But would the 75% of non-college educated Louisianians be any better off with a degree? Particularly one of their choosing?!?! Serious question.

Don't bother. He is one of the most miserable posters on this site. He makes every topic political and has been screaming bloody murder the last 2.5 years because of Trump

Him and Tiger Jeff. You could make a WYHI thread and they'd make it about politics somehow

There are two ways to look at education. The first is simply to prepare one for employment, the other is education for the sake of education. Most people see it only as the first I personally see both parts as important to living a fulfilled life. While most intelligent people are at least somewhat autodidactic it still helps to have had a structured education in math, science and the social sciences.

That said a lot of people are not motivated to learn and for them going to college is generally wasted.

119 Words:

I know this falls into the whole "plant baw" thing, but I was talking to someone the other night and he was telling me his son started doing some type of instrumental class in HS. Once he graduated he had a job at a plant and they paid him to go to school.

Right now he goes to classes 2 days a week, gets paid $16/hr and the classes are included in his 40 hrs.

It seems like unless you are going to school to be a teacher, doctor, engineer, architect, lawyer, mass comm (media).. There are cheaper options out there to prepare you for a career.

Are their a lot more people attending college than really needs to?
When only 12 words were actually needed to (albeit grammatically poorly) ask the question.

Less is more Wheels.

Please, in that context, give us more.

Federal department of education is designing curriculums to prepare kids for college. Schools are graded on tests designed to judge kids on college readiness. And since the GI bill everyone wants their kids to be more educated than them.

We need more kids to not go to college, but I certainly want my kids to college and am not willing to sacrifice their chances

Because LWNJ's narrative of college-at-all-costs-even-if-it's-a-dead-end-career-field has certainly worked out by creating a class of useless, ignorant, under-educated, low-skilled societal parasites. I know that means more people that vote and think like you, but it's a shite deal for the US as a whole.

I suspect that south Louisiana and some other areas may be different than the rest of the country in this regard. The oil and chemical industry provides high paying jobs that require little education. In other areas if the country, those kinds of jobs are gone. L

Look at Detroit and areas that used to have textile industries, for example. Those jobs ares fewer or gone.

Automation and shipping jobs overseas will continue to take away jobs here for those without education.

The better question would be . Are Too Many Crippled Cretins Starting Pointless Threads On Message Boards.

So I was chatting up my REAL LIFE friend who's nephews step-moms neighbors son. Has a broken leg from a plant accident. So he'e's been spending alot of time on Reddit ( its a message board for creepy losers apparently) Anyway this crippled kid starts a ton of "threads" or "topics" on this board and he's annoying as frick and all od Reddit wants him dead.

So my question to you is, what brand of shoes go best with a wheelchair?
