I was hammered for graduation at LSU. Wore shorts, Tshirt and tennis shoes as well.

No. After you have your last drink, you would then have to wait hours before being able to get your next drink. Therefore, you would literally be sitting there sobering up during the ceremony. Would be a complete and utter waste of the earlier drinks.

Unless you can bring a flask with you, then ignore my earlier comments.

Edit: FYI, if you have to give a speech, then being drunk is highly recommended.
