I’ve had this set for a few years. It was $99 when I bought it. It’s bailed me out more than a few times

For a portable set, a 3/8 does almost everything.

Except fit the belt tensioner.
I want my portable set to be equipped to get me off the side of the road.

Can someone who has this let me know the approx. dimensions of the case? Wondering if it will fit in underseat compartment. Thanks.

I keep the Harbor Freight Pittsburgh toolkit in my truck. less than $40

Going on sale over memorial day for $29.99 with an additional 20% or 25% off coupon (depending on the day you go). Worst case it's $24 out the door.

I have this craftsman set. Love the tools but the box is a pain in the arse. If you make the mistake of opening it upside down you are screwed, cause nothing in the bottom is secured. Also the Allen wrenches are loose in a plastic bag

I'm not that well educated about tool sets. I have always bought craftsman from sears.

My portable tool box is just all the basic stuff I may need thrown in one of these...

No organization though.

I like the organization of the set posted in the OP.

Question: How is the overall quality of Crescent branded tools? Like I said, I've only ever bought craftsman, and was told most other brands are made out of cheap recycled metal.

Tool set in the truck isn't really for working on the truck. I have a giant tool chest in my garage for that. Its for when I'm at the lake house and need to do something in the boat. Or when we're off roading in Utah and need a good portable set because stuff can and does break on the trail. I don't like packing tools in and out of my tool chest I tend to lose stuff that way. I also tend to lose tools when I just keep a set rattling around loose in a big as often I don't notice I didn't put that 14mm or the extention back in the bag and those tools get lost. The molded case keeps everything organized and it's easy to take inventory before you pack them up so you don't lose tools as often.

Just ordered three of them from Amazon - one for my vehicle and one for each of our boys.

Thanks for the tip.

OP,

Just wanted to give you props on posting a link to this tool set last month. Had one shipped to my house asap and I've just about used the damn thing every day since it arrived. It literally has almos everything you'll ever need for small house tasks or working on your vehicle. Best money I've spent all year
