Have a bunch of handyman type stuff to do around the house. Replacing some rotten wood, refinishing some shutters and doors, stuff like that. I figure a couple thousand in work total.

Have called 4 people to come and give estimates.

2 show up and say they will get back to me with estimate, never do

2 never even showed up and now dont answer

Is the home improvement baw job market so good that they say frick it i dont want this guys money?

My buddy that used to do that kind of stuff on the side is coaching travel ball now.

Not a joke, the honest truth.

Your problem is you are using the wrong currency.

Pesos and corona will get the job done, ese.

Take your home to the manufacturer that built it. Most regular folks don't know how to work on trailers.

Too much work out there to be screwing around with small jobs like that. What you need to find is an old drunk carpenter that is still working to pay for his beer and cigs.

I have a friend that is now a residential contractor and is the ultimate jack of all trades in the construction industry. He said that he gets those kinds of request often and he turns them all down because they're just not worth it. It's not where he's at in his career, they're short term jobs that keep him from finding long term jobs, and that the worst part is that the homeowner always wants to 'help' to save money, but that their help is a hindrance, more often than that and just plain aggravating because they don't know what they're doing or he wouldn't be there. They make the job more difficult and then want a discount because of it.

Not enough to entice anyone of quality. You might want to find a unlicensed jackass advertising on Facebook sales pages.

It might be the Gacy vibe you give off....

Sorry, but it looks like this thread just turned into an intervention.

Seems to be like this all over. We had to practically beg people to get quotes for fencing and asphalt resurfacing. Plumbing was a 2 day wait, the good ones are absolutely swamped with business.

My dad retired and works all the damn time doing this type of stuff. He's a handyman and mostly does the small jobs since he is on his own. He keeps upping his hourly rate because there is too much work. He really enjoys what he does now and is paid mostly in cash. Not a bad gig
