Touche. I don't recall anything with our current leaders though, which is understanding given their lack of experience actually leading an army.

Only thing that makes sense is they are trying to show these characters have flaws.
Because Dany is by far the worst commander/general I’ve seen in fake wars. She had two of the greatest armies around plus 3 dragons.
Not only has she not accomplished any of her goals, she keeps getting beat and losing armies/dragons.
Jon really needs to take the 3rd dragon away from her

Yea, that's kinda the point. Dany calls the shots, and she isn't thinking clearly.
That's literally the point you were supposed to take away from that
That should be the point, but they are bungling the shite out of it.

Even if they had conventional knowledge, how well does that work when dragons, wights, and other shite gets involved?
Randyll Tarly was pretty much acknowledged as the best general in the Seven Kingdoms. Dany barbecued his arse between using the Dothraki and the dragons in a curb stomp battle.
Having conventional knowledge doesn’t necessarily hold up when phenomenon not seen in your lifetime comes up.
That’s not to excuse her stupidity as much as point out that this isn’t the Westeros of Robert’s Rebellion.

In all fairness I think everyone is creeped out by Bran and he’s like the old grandpa that you just wheel into the room but kinda ignore. The viewer is more aware of Bran’s “abilities”. The same can be said about Arya. They know she’s a badass with a knife and needle, but do they know she can wear someone else’s face? Pretty sure she’s kept that to herself and is planning on ending everything by herself so she isn’t sharing.

Yeah I agree.
I think most of the fighting has done a good job showing that emotionally vested leaders are prone to major mistakes because of those emotions. That's true in the real world too.

That's why I figured she'd make use of Jaime. He's actually an experienced battlefield commander

She may have.
Jamie’s name may as well be Leeroy Jenkins given his normal tactics.

Keep in mind it was totally dark and the enemy was so big, they didn't know where the flanks were
Posted on 5/6/19 at 12:24 pm to bbrownso
Look at Euron's ships--jammed in a tight space between cliffs, sailing by the lee (wind behind them). The have no room for maneuver. But Dany stupidly attacks head on. If she attacks the flank, or the stern, the ships are sitting ducks. They can't maneuver to the side because of rocks and if they manage to turn around completely, then they are dead in the water heading directly into the wind. They are fish in a barrel.

I can see that but again, you’d assume in a war that you absolutely can not afford to lose or face the obliteration of your entire houses, somebody would at least say, “okay folks who’s good at what and how can we use it?”

She wanted to take her Army and take King's Landing from the start. Tyrion is the one that came up with her ridiculous battle plans that all failed. That wasn't Dany's fault.

Dany isn’t a general. She’s barely a leader
She’s just fireproof and has dragons.

I've definitely grown old of everything Tyrion does this season being wrong.

Olenna Tyrell told her not to listen to Tyrion and to take the throne by force which is what you do in war. Tyrion told her otherwise and it was a failure which at this point I am not sure wasn't on purpose anyway.
Tyrion totally screwed the pooch with Dany's military power.

Idk. They were still in a very good position till they went north
The Lannister scored some wins and like I said, any lead they may have had Dany erased when she burnt their army and the Dothraki fricked them on the way back from Highgarden.

Yea they were in a good position until they had to fight the NK. I think Tyrion was correct there. His strategy that she doesn't want to be seen as a war tyrant was working for the most part. Then Jon showed up and shite hit the fan.
This season though Tyrion has definitely been oddly mistake prone.

He has only really made one suggestion this season and I think it's Out of desperation.
He really wants to everything he can to keep Dany from just burning down KL.
It’s not like he alone came up with the idea of sailing to Dragonstone. Everyone else was in that room too.
What was lost at the parley that wasn’t already lost?
Last season he was nonstop taking Ls he needs a win. One good thing about taking out the NK is that he is able to come back to the forefront a little bit after being sidelined.

True. I guess i'm kind of blending last season and this one. It is definitely time for him to get back to true form or there better be a reveal that he is tanking shite on purpose. Otherwise, just inexplicably him losing the main thing he is good at will make no sense.
